Trixie did say it was a PK lens David, in the topic title

As for Macro lenses Trixie you could also consider the Tamron Macros, they can be every bit as good as Pentax and can be picked up for quite a reasonable price in KA mount too.
Hi Alan, have a look at Trixie's reply in the post above mine. You'll see that she makes reference to 'hoping it hasn't got a bayonet fitting'. This is why I posted the comment.

I've successfully cleaned a few Takumars from quite bad fungus and have been able to eradicate it completely, with no sign of any etching on the lens coatings or the glass. I'm not sure how easy it is on the M lenses to get behind the front element, but if it can be done I'm sure this could be cleaned.

The second one would be my choice and would look good in Black & white with the contrast enhanced. Hope you get on well with your K-r!

Hi Daphne - I almost always shoot on manual - it's more exciting that way! I love my K-x and I'm sure you'll love yours. It is a fabulous camera and will take you some great pictures if you treat it right.

Hi Trixie, you would be better off if the lens you are interested in has a bayonet fitting as this will fit your K-x without the need for any adaptors. If it doesn't have a bayonet, you would need an adaptor. If you go for the Pentax-M (excellent lenses but as mentioned they require manual exposure) it will definitely be a bayonet fitting.

Judging by your website and your previous pics posted here I am 100% confident they will be good (weather permitting of course)!

It will smash the Sigma 70-300 in all departments bar autofocus speed. This shouldn't be an issue as it has quick shift, unlike my DA L which has to rely on my quick (?) hands!

What about fitting some tubes to a prime 50mm, 100mm or 135mm? Great fun and subject to your lens will produce very sharp macros and will go very close.

Cheap primes in these focal lengths are very easy to find. I particularly like my Chinon 50mm F1.9 and my Takumar 135mm F3.5 for Macro shots with tubes. Manual focus of course, but then most macro photography is done with MF anyway.

I agree with David; although I like to try and shoot without flash, I've had my best results with a home-made flash diffuser made from a Pringles Tube (thank you Charlotte for the initial idea and your inspirational shots that prove it works). I like your first shots, it will be great to see some of living and breathing subjects too!
