Free Software for Synchronising your Folders

Just a quick note that may be useful for those of you (like me) who store your digital files on multiple drives in case of drive failure. I've found a great little freeware program called 'Allway Sync' that automatically synchronises the folders based on scheduled tasks or being run manually. I now only have to save my files once to a single drive and the software synchronises the folders and files to my two other network drives automatically. I've always been a bit nervous of auto-sync-ing since a friend of mine lost data when he deleted it from his HD - the synced copy was then also deleted.

Does this suffer with this problem? or an it be set up to track changes but ignor deletions?

By the way, the software used by my friend was some years old.

You can set it up to track changes or ignore deletions even on separate drives, so you could have a " master " drive where nothing is ever deleted, but new files are added, disc space is then the key.

I don't set the software to " auto sync " I start it manually, so as long as you've not realised you've deleted something accidently before you back-up, you should be able to copy / paste the original from a back up.

Thanks Chris. I would hate to lose stuff I've carefully arhived just beause I've deleted it off the PC.
