I have one in good condition that I picked up recently for my daughter to use with her newly acquired ME-Super. Unfortunately, however, on detailed inspection I discovered what appears to be the early stage of a fungal contamination on what I judge to be the rear of the front element .

I have exposed the element to UV light in situ using an hand-held sterilising lamp, but it is too early to say whether or no this has had any effect on the growth/survival of the fungus and I don't have the nerve to attempt a strip and clean myself.

Bearing all this in mind, feel free to make an offer if nothing better comes along.

For the benefit of reso and any other brave, technically accomplished forum user who enjoys a challenge and has a few quid to spare, here is a close-up of the front lens element taken prior U.V. exposure.

I've successfully cleaned a few Takumars from quite bad fungus and have been able to eradicate it completely, with no sign of any etching on the lens coatings or the glass. I'm not sure how easy it is on the M lenses to get behind the front element, but if it can be done I'm sure this could be cleaned.

Hello Phill. I have one I seldom use - I'm not at home until next wednesday so I can't show you any pictures of it until then.

If you've not sourced one by then let me know and I'll put some pics up.

Simon.
