Surely it's the P-Type system you need, not the A-type.

You're right Dan, I made a mistake. It is Cokin-P I was meaning to say, thanks for the correction.

Well by definition this does not apply to you, nor does it me - since we have selected a system knowing that it does not offer FF.
But that isn't the case. Many Pentax users regularly use lenses that do offer FF. The only thing missing is a camera body to match!

About half of my lenses are Full Frame. Yes I would have to buy some more, but I wouldn't have to ditch everything to go FF. I'm happy to wait and see what happens next year; I'm in no rush and not getting excited about what might or might not happen.

Thanks everyone for the comments, particularly Mike for the observations on the colour popped one. I also prefer the front of people (!) but somehow I thought the one of the children worked, apart from me cutting the boy's foot off!

Cheers

Try carefully cleaning the contacts on both the lens and the mount with a microfibre cloth and ispopropyl alcohol or similar.

Hi Alistair

The 85mm ones will be fine with the 18-55. I'm not sure about the Sigma 10-20 as I don't own one so haven't tested it. I do have a Pentax 12-24 and had to cut down the filter holder on that so it only had 2 slots instead of 3, because it stuck out too far forwards and caused some vignetting with that lens and also with the DA17-70. It's fine with the 85mm filters now I've cut it down.

The problem with 100mm filters is the cost - they are quite expensive. What I would recommend is to go on ebay and buy a 85mm Cokin A type holder (Chinese ones are fine and only cost a few quid). Try this on your lenses before buying the filters and if no vignetting occurs, go for the 85mm filters.

Which comes back to point I made earlier.... if its so easy to sort out in software, why would Pentax go to all this trouble of creating this new revolutionary technololgy if they could have just provided an update to PDCU??
I don't think an update to PDCU would have had quite the same impact do you?

I think they've pulled off a masterstroke with this, if only for the publicity and the ability to claim 'revolutionary technology'.

Just let me know when! It would have to be a Friday or Saturday for me unless I'm on annual leave from work (7th November is a possibility).
