INITIAL SETTINGS REST TAMMY 28MM WONT WORK

Posted 10/10/2013 - 18:19 Link
I did an" initial reset"and a resEt in custom mode, on my K20D.My 50-200mm wr lens works fine but when I attach my Tamron 28mmf2.8 ,the camera does not ask me to manually input focal lengh and there is no response when I press my shutter button.
Any suggestions from the community is appreciated.

Try carefully cleaning the contacts on both the lens and the mount with a microfibre cloth and ispopropyl alcohol or similar.

If it doesn't have the "A" setting on the lens you will probably need to go through the menu and and select Permit under the Using Aperture Ring setting. I think it's in the custom settings part.

Enable "Use aperture ring" option in the menus.

Presuming the Tamron is a manual lens ... you prob enabled the setting when doing a reset as it's off by default.
