There are a number of images taken with the 14mm Samyang on my Flickr feed. One of them taken with the K-1, but most taken with a Sony A7 (which I no longer own).

Not really a bug, but unable to set focal length correctly when I attach my Samyang 14mm f/2.8. The closest I can enter is 15mm.

In November 2014 I confess I lost faith that a Pentax FF would ever appear and bought myself a Sony A7. This was not an entirely bad thing as it answered my question about whether FF was worth the investment. Fortunately, I chose to use this with a collection of Samyang primes for which I always bought the Pentax fit, just in case I came back.

Well, the K1 is finally here and it look to be an amazing camera. Mine is on pre-order from the wonderful folks at SRS and I will be going to collect it as soon as I get back from my current business trip in Montreal. So, I am coming back in to the fold and will be happy to return to the Pentax way of doing things. Don’t get me wrong, Sony is a technology company that makes some very interesting and important mirrorless cameras. However, Pentax is a photography company that leverages technology to make very usable cameras! I enjoyed my A7 and will even miss the EVF in many ways. However, I know that my photographic endeavours will be better served by the K1 (plus it won’t feel like it’s about to break in my hands!).

Yes, the legs do have foam on them, and you are right, it is surprising how cold tripods get out in the wilds

There are beefier heads available form Vanguard, but the SBH100 seemed to be a good balance of quality to weight. I am very happy with mine.... I looked at a second hand Trecker, but it seemed cumbersome (though very well built).

Build quality on the Vanguard is good and there is a carbon fibre variant if weight is a concern.

I am using a Vanguard Alta Pro 263AT Tripod with a SBH100 head. Gets the camera into all sorts of positions with less hassle than a Benbo Trecker.

Looking at the Meade site, an adapter appears to be needed to provide a T-thread connection on the ETX-90. You can find a description of this adapter (Meade 64ST Adapter #07366 for photography with the Meade ETX-60, ETX-70 and ETX-80 models) here.

There after, a Pentax K-mount to T-thread adapter will be needed to couple to the Pentax camera body.

This will enable PRIME FOCUS imaging. For afocal projection using an eyepiece, different adapters will be needed.

Using JPG throws away so much editing potential. Even in the best composed, metered and exposed shot, there is always more to be had out of an image from some thoughtful post processing... RAW is definitely best for this!

I have used LR3 and, as other say, very good and so easy to use.

Lots of mentions for Noise Ninja and Neat Image, both of which can produced very nice results. However, you should also look at Topaz DeNoise. I have not used this personally, but have seen some very good results attributed to Topaz DeNoise.

I can only echo what others have said. I am using both the 18-55 and the 50-200 and I am not seeing any significant issues with focus.
