I like the 3rd efect. It gives a feeling of scraperboard work. As such it seems more of a piece of art.

I feel that the others look like you have been 'playing' with computer colour.

Well we had a good week in Fife, slightly grey and damp. No crab snadwiches as the sea was too rough for the boats to go out!

Here are three shots

Fiona,

If I remeber correctly, Chris Packham suggested in one of his tv series using a small windbreak (two canes and a pice of thick cloth) when photograpng outside - might be worth a try.

I went to an excellent exhibition of photos this week by Andy Lathem. He has been shooting the landscapes around the River Ribble from its source in the Yorkshire Dales to its entarance into the sea at Southport, Lancashire.

There is a really inspirational set, and shows what can be done when you set yourself a project. The one that I found striking was the field of Brussel Sprouts! The full set is released as a book of the same title. A quick flick through this showed the writing to be interesting, informed and engaging as to what the landscape means to him and why it inspires him.

The exhibition is on to the 31st October at the Folly, Victoria Street, Settle BD24 9EY TEl 015242 51388 web www.ncbpt.org.uk/folly.

hello farmer,

People might be able to help more if you could explain what camera you are using and a little about the photograph and lighting conditions etc at the time.

Sorry Coker this does not do anything for me, my eye is not drawn anywhere. Most of the shot is out of focus.

I think that there could have been a tighter shot with the poppy and the stubble. or even the patterns in the stubble.
