What has put you off netbooks?

Hello all,

I am currently looking at getting a netbook for use when out on uk campsites in the campervan. There are few things I need to take into consideration:

1. I need good battery power as it will not always be able to connect the van to the mains.
2. I would like to review photos on it, but would be happy to keep them stored on sd cards until I get home.
3. I would like it to connect to broadband around the countryside (Lakes/highlands/northumberland etc), so that I can look up information on the areas I am visiting.
4.I would like to be able to keep a record of the trip to be transferred onto the pc when at home.

Taking account the above are there any suggestions for:

1. A good netbook
2. The most sensible mobile broadband connection
3. The software that the netbook should have preinstalled.
4. Other things to take into consideration?

Thanks

Dave

The kit lens deals now seem to often offer the 55 - 300. This is, in my opinion a much more useful lens and the quality is very good.

Hello Alan great shot.

Two questions:

1. Which teleconvertor did you use?
2. Why did you turn the shake reduction off?

This is Goit Stock much more pleasant than the M62

I think we will have to keep a weather eye out for a good Friday.

We will be at Whitby on the 30th sometime on saturday morning and could meet up at lunch time

So what do you do on a wet sunday? Take out a weatherproof pentax camera and lens of course!!!!

I find that I am always fascinated by the power and movement of streams when they are in full flow.

I know the branch is a little distracting but that's nature, unruly.

This stream is normaly a trickle.

I thought that this was a bit unusual. Taken last week with the Tamron 18 - 250.

Constructive criticism welcome

Perhaps i should turn off the shake reduction just before I take the shot

Any way the world is round so the horizon will always tilt to the right oh yes and the left

Congratulations Fiona,

I think this a good challenging thread.

What a lot of different perspectives have been offered and none of us fallen out..yet
