Yes, looks like a Robber Fly to me too.

True, but I'd rather see Pentax lenses listed that you can get for pennies than 3rd party lenses that cost a packet.

Still, it's not that sort of a list.

We'd love to add any more we may have missed,

Thanks

Josh
Well, there's all the old lenses that you've missed out, or is the list meant to be just current ones?

Here's a shot with the DA*300 wide open similar to Mike's 2nd one for comparison.....if it is a similar comparison!

Nearly always use primes (K series 20, 28, 30 and 55, DFA100 and DA*300) unless going ultra wide (wider than 20mm) and then I use the DA 12-24.

I'm thinking along the same lines...
Buying a K1 to use old glass is like buying a new top of the range Mercedes-Benz just so you can use your old floor mats from your 1990 merc cos they fit...

I bet the floor mats from the 1990 Merc will outlast a 2016 Merc - Daimler is run by accountants these days

I think us Pentax users are in a very good place - the old lenses, with limitations, will work beautifully on a K-1....It's also not as if you have a D5 or 1DX2 which really do need the latest lenses to work at their best.
Surely that's an assumption..
If the 30 year old glass is outperformed by F and FA lenses not to mention DA why would it suddenly shine on FF?
I'm not talking about 4 or 500 quid lenses like K specials but the run of the mill PK lenses.
My most expensive lens is the HD 16 -85 which isn't FF neither are any if my other good lenses apart from the 100 macro and the 50mm f1.4.
And your assumption is that old glass is outperformed by F and FA lenses (and DA), which is certainly not always the case. Some of the old K lenses are optically superb, so the generalisation doesn't work.

The key to this is to see which "individual" lenses work on the K-1, and I'm assuming....well, hoping is more the case....that the K lenses, as well as the DFA100, will work very well. But, at the moment, we just don't know.

Yes, just recently, actually, exactly the same thing. Apparently, sometimes the screws just come loose.

Mine was fixed by Alan Marlow, lens cleaned and tested, and it has come back as good as new, so don't worry.

If you haven't used him before I can recommend him.

He certainly is. His reviews are not reliable. The fact that he's dissing it before anyone has used it shows him and his paymasters must be slightly worried.

Just thought I'd repost the OP in case it had been forgotten.

just wondering - did anybody upgrade from K5 to K5IIs? How do you find it? Would there be noticeable increase of details due to missing antialiasing filter? I found some quite mixed info on web and can't make my mind. I do like K5, especially its dynamic range is great for landscapes. I like shooting landscapes from tripod, but I wonder if K5IIs will provide me more clarity and more detail by any chance?

Well, I don't care what anyone else thinks. I'm right and anyone who disagrees is wrong!
