Or, Geoff, you could set your K-x to take RAW images, as I have done.

Brilliant photos, Mark. I haven't got through them all yet, but when I have the time.........

We almost moved to the Eden Valley, but moved to France instead. Sometimes I miss that scenery.

I bought my first DSLR, a K-x too, last week. I have a bit of catching up to do to reach your standard, but it is inspiring to see what you have done.

I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here with all these nice people.

Cheers,

ds

I've just bought a K-x, a week ago, and can honestly say that if it didn't exist I would not be a Pentax owner, nor probably a DSLR owner. It's that which has coaxed me in and will, inevitably, cause me to spend much more money on Pentax lenses in the future.

Surely they must stay in this cheaper end?

At 3 hours drive to the sea I'm very appreciative of the restrictions. I may even enter the comp.........maybe.

My first camera was also a Kodak Instamatic.

The camera that I've been learning on, for the first time, is a camera I've had for somewhere between 10 and 12 years, but only started to learn how to use properly for the last 5 months, and that's a Fujifilm Finepix 4900 Zoom.

The turning point, for me, I hope, is my first DSLR, which arrived in the post this morning.....a Pentax K-x.

Hi Adrian,

I, too, didn't want to look at this thread for what I feared may lie within. Now I'm glad I did.

Firstly, I'm sorry for your loss.

But the reason I'm glad I looked is because my father was also on the Russian (Arctic) Convoys. From all reports, it was a terrible experience. He has always spoken of how the waves used to hit the decks as ice.

My father is still alive at the tender age of 91, and my mother at 88. Both doing quite well. With your loss, I can only imagine what may well lie in store for me in the next few years.

Celebrate the life.

Cheers,

ds
