Fantastic, Mark. 13 months, eh? So I've still got 12 months of SLR ownership to reach your standard!

I'll be getting the 55-300mm when I have the available cash later this year. It's just such an obvious buy......for me, at least.

Actually, you were right. Just a handful......well, a few, anyway, went over this afternoon. Was watching the rugby, so wasn't ready with the camera. Waited for more, but nothing happened. Maybe tomorrow? There was a big departure from the Pyrenees on Thursday - 35,000 birds and a second one yesterday morning 70,000 birds. So you might get some today.
You saw my photos from a few months ago, but not taken with a Pentax, alas.

Hi John, and welcome!
You've got yourself a reall bargain there. I bought my first SLR a month ago and it's a K-x. I'm still getting used to it, but with my 18-55 kit lens and borrowed 135mm and nift fifty, I'm getting along fine. I'm really impressed with the camera, and jealous as hell that you've got the 55-300. Tht's one I'm after when I have some more available dosh.
I think you'll enjoy yourself here.
Cheers,
darkskies

There are 2 things, though, aren't there?
A competition where we vote for the favourite, and then the comp where there is a photo to be processed. Better have 2 polls, dr!
