Image quality's going to be great from either one. I think I'd go for the Samsung if the price is the same.

Neil, if it was the AF360, it's actually a good price these days. Also, lots of people here seem to think the Metz guns are excellent.
Unfortunately, the problem with Pentax being harder to find in shops, is that some dealers don't know as much about them when they do stock them. A trip to Watford would probably be ideal - it's only an hour away. Dare I ask where this camera shop was?

Depends on the focal length that they used and camera.

So the only option is to use manual and experiment with shutter speeds if you're using natural light. You could try an angle-poise lamp for aditional lighting, which may reduce your exposure times (just remember to alter your white balance to suit), or invest in a cheap flashgun and play around with that.

Anyway, if you're looking for another portrait lens, the Tamron may well be a good one to go for, people who own it seem to be pleased with sharpness etc, and it would be a useful range I think. I'm sure there's another very similar topic been going on in the last few days.
Otherwise the FA50mm 1.4 is a lovely lens to have.
Really depends on what your other lenses are lacking. Is it aperture, length, etc... If it's none of these and you're essentially happy with what you've got and what they can do, perhaps you should be thinking about something other than a lens. New flashgun? Reflectors? Backdrops?
