playing with panoramic

has any one played at panoramic, with there photography take a look at this

Very cool effect, a few doxen images there I reckon.

Depends on the focal length that they used and camera.

I'd like to know what software was used to allow the panning effect.

I believe it's part of quicktime, there are multiple software that can do it.

I was pointed in the direction of Hugin link by Mattmatic and I also find ICE by Microsoft link pretty good too. Both are free

Lock exposure and focus (I normally switch to manual) and pan away

Here's one I took in the summer holidays made up of I think five or six potrait shots (hand held).

hand held wow nice how long did it take you to stitch them together

Really not very long at all, it's pretty much automatic as the programs find the points in each image that matches and then perform the stitching automatically. You just crop to suit. Give them a try you will see how easy it is

I might play in the new year as I'm going to usa in march and I have had the hugin program on my computer for quite some time.

10.5mm on a D200. Pan the picture down and you see some image details - date, time, location, pixel dimensions etc.

I use panorama maker and it easily makes up very good panos. It only takes some time (many calculations) depending on your processor.
As long as you don't have overlapping images were people/objects your all right.
I typically don't even use a tripod, just shoot shoot shoot.
I'm sure its not the best, but I generally ok with the result.

Thank you Dan, 10mm is pretty wide so it will probably be not so much as you think.
I believe the advice was 1/3th overlap so with 100 degrees will give you around the 30 degrees per shot so it takes 12 photos to go around, they probably needed to do that 3 times so probably around the 36 to 40 shots.

It's a very nice package, available for 32 or 64 bit Windows OS. I use it quite regularly now.

I wonder about these shots, how do they omit the tripod's legs, for one thing.

I've also seen a package that every couple of months gets offered to an estate agent client of mine. It consists of a fisheye pointed at the ceiling, a Canon body, a tripod and custom software. The thing takes one shot (at least I assume it's one shot, it doesn't need to be panned, that's for sure), and produces a panorama out of that. The results seem pretty high resolution, not sure how they achieve that, some sort of super resolution software I guess.
