Also - K20D GPS - this is actually a standard K20D with a GPS module as an attachment and will be £25 more than the standard K20D price. We are getting stock later today.

Bearing in mind that this camera is apparently in stock and on sale, I find it staggering that there's nothing but rumours on blogs and forums about it. None of the Pentax websites seem to say anything, and there's no concrete information anywhere.

Chris seems to be a bit vague as to what it is exactly too.

What's going on?

This is a handout I've produced for one of my workshops, with a brief explanation of the hisyogram, because I've found it's something lots of people have trouble getting to grips with.

Bear in mind this is only really applicable to Jpegs, or specifically the last bit (dark and light images) is.

Hope it's a help. If anyone has any comments or corrections, I'd be only too glad to hear about them!

Hi Alan,

I studied guitar making at the London Guildhall University (which was the City of London Poly, which was the London College of Furniture, and which is now The London Metropolitan University :lol, and I always enjoyed going 'over the road' to the early fretted workshop, where there were some amazing instruments being built, including lutes, hurdy-gurdies, and I seem to recall a harpsichord too.

It's surprising to see how light and insubstantial a lute is. I wish I'd had a camera back in those days...

Anyway, welcome to the forum, and I hope you get your lute at some point, as well as a few more lenses.

The camera body needs to be switched on - the on/off switch on the grip just controls whether the shutter release and other controls on the grip are acrive or not. The battery in the grip will still be used as appropriate whether the grip is switched on or not.

Try this: http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/manual/DALens_OPM_ENG.pdf which I believe is the manual John's refering to.

Don't know about the cap thingy. Have you tried SRS?

Oh well, in that case, my preferred wired trigger has a built in timer and has the name Aputure (yes, I spelled it right) on the front. Similar to this one.
That's the one I was trying to find! Had a feeling it might have been you that posted about it before.

Last discussed here.

I, and many others, are more than happy with our Sigmas, although there do seem to be problem ones, or people that seem to have a problem with all the ones they've tried.

If you look at the sample pic I've uploaded on that thread, you'll see the lens is capapble of far greater quality than Richard Day experienced.

I really must get round to trying out the Pentax 12-24, just to see how it compares to the Sigma. Not that I would change it, it's a focal length range that I rarely use, and the Sigma's great, but it would be nice to be able to do a comparison.
