I was just thinking out aloud.
Thinking back to when I was at Uni we nearly all had Pentax cameras or aspired to Pentax ownership.
Nowadays it all seems to be Canikon.

How many pro photographers who have regularly used Pentax cameras can you name?
I've had a wee think and can name 3 certainties.
David Bailey,
Terence Donovan
Sam Haskins.
Anyone for anymore?

Nice to see Pentax at the forefront, even with a mention.
What a bitch that Lady C was.
The documentary afterwards was fascinating. Did anybody else notice the superb still lifes that this man is producing?

I think you are probably adopting the right attitude and I agree with what both John and Ken have said.
It's what we take and how they are perceived by the emotionally unattached viewer that cuts the mustard.
I have yet to meet a member of the non photographic general public that scrutinises an image and then says
"Oh it's a wee bit soft at the edges and is that some vignetting I can detect?"
The same applies to a lot of photography enthusiasts, they often don't see any lens anomalies.
If you take note of what John has written that you get a feel for a lens then you begin to understand that lens and its strong and weak points.
Ten years ago I had a Tokina 28-70mm ATX Pro lens that several reviewers at the time wrote very scathing reports about. I loved that lens, it was slow and noisy compared to today's lenses but I produced some images with that lens that I am still proud of today.
Lots of people have seen these images and made comments about them some favourable some not, but not one person has commented on the softness on the edges.
Enjoy your lens/ camera and your photography. That's all the really counts at the end of the day.

I find it deplorable that Pentax don't seem to want to be in the forefront of photography anymore.

I'm sure you will find lots of interesting things happening on the forum.

Not as many as those buttered up by Canikon.

Be very very careful with these people.
I have had very disappointing dealings with them on a couple of occassions and a friend on Skye bought a Pentax 645n and a couple of lenses from them which were described as mint- and they were truly awful. At best exc.
Also several members of the photographic society I belong to have not had good experiences with them.
To sum it all up I've heard and experienced more negatives than positives about these people.
Ffordes on the other hand I've been dealing with since they had a wee shop in Southend. In almost 40 years I have never ever had any reason to complain about their service or their descriptions of used equipment.
In fact on several occassions when I have wanted to px equipment I have been pleasantly surprised by their
px quotes.
