What was the macro lens and setup? I've seen problems when using TC's in low light, especially on older lenses, where the camera has difficulty detecting the length of the lens which sends the SR into overdrive if enabled.

I just ordered a Seagull one for macro work and also for use in provided bird hides when the camera is on a tripod. Should help with the back pain I usually get trying to crouch/bend to the right height.

Hi Alex,

Welcome to the forum. I must say, I love the picture of the spaniel at the gate/fence - beautifully composed and executed.

Sigma UK told me to email them on Fridays to ask about availability as that's when they open the latest shipment to see what they've got from Japan. You can then contact your friendly dealer to get them to order one if they have stock over and above that allocated by their main dealers (or join the queue by pre-ordering from a popular dealer).

If one is to believe the current rumours, there's meant to be a new lens lineup announced in January along with a new body or two. The same rumours suggest that Pentax was having QC problems with the new DA* lenses which Hoya helped resolve which put back the release of the longer primes from the original roadmap.

I'm just regurgitating what I've read elsewhere, but I'm also looking forward to a new *300 prime.

You can also do that if you switch to the continuous focus option, though the risk of an out of focus image is much more likely.
