Well I have looked at K20 pix and K10 pix on this site. I don`t perceive much difference and I like my K10. However now the K7 has arrived I am hoping the K20 price will tumble like all of the other models have. I would like a second body.

A very dear friend was in the RAF during the war, kitting out recce aircraft with camera gear then developing the results. He moved on to having his own studio wth cameras the size of a small car plus a host of others. The camera he used for his own purposes was a Pentax. Good enough for him, good enough for me. Bought a ME Super and had it for about 25 years. Then the insides turned to gloop. So what did I do? Bought a Painasonic FZ7. Well I couldn`t be without and it had a good sized zoom. Never close to the quality of the ME. Then out came the adverts for the K10 and off I went to J-----s. A real camera again at last. Sorry it`s a bit long winded but that`s how it went.

I wouldn`t get too hung up about focus speed. There are many variables that will affect it. Keep practicing will help capture that moment. it always amazes me how much we see developing in front of the camera as we are using it. personally I don`t find the DA 300 any different on the focus time. Probably only looking at nano seconds.

Hello Gwyn, another Pentax user and myself had a days course in Yorkshire with professional photographer Paul Miguel. We both learnt a great deal and it was real fun too. Good value as well. I would do another one with him.

I use the 50-200 on a K10D body and because of the superb imagery from a genuine Pentax lens I bought a DA300. The 50-200 knocks spots off my Tamron 28-300 which, in my opinion having used the Pentax zoom is soft at the extreme zoom and generally a bit naff. I am sure others will disagree but I think the manufacturers products match better than third party ones. Yep the Pentax is a cracking lightweight compact zoom and is well worth having.

I agree with Gwyn, a TC that works with the excellent DA 300.

For Parcelforce read Parcelfarce, absolutely useless. Waste of time and space if you see them on the road they are probably lost. THEY DON`T HAVE A CLUE. I ordered items from SRS and from Warehouse Express. They could not find my house despite delivering before. I tracked through the tracking number gave the idiot behind the counter this info who had had to put his cigarette out to serve me. He gave me the package, I complained and he said it was a new driver but the time showed as 1645 so I can only guess the real answer. After complaining to customer service and asking for compensation by some miracle my parcel from WE arrived no real apology or explanation. Anyway you think Parcelfarce are bad the first lens I ordered from WE I had to collect from Business Express, they couldn`t find it. It took over an hour before they located it. I was advised by a fellow in the queue not to complain or when they did find it they would kick it around the warehouse. I wonder how he knew! If you think that`s a challenge the TNT driver that delivers to my work place will if they are in his way on his truck throw them from one end to the other but only if labelled fragile. It`s nothing short of miraculous when we receive complete undamaged goods.

I give my wholehearted support to Chris and his staff. The sevice levels I have received are superb. His price rises lagged well behind at least one major online retailer. By all means complain if you can justify it. Be reasonable though, if you want good kit, service, advice and expect the retailer to carry the nitty gritty little bits that no one else in our high streets hold at considerable expense then pay up and support that retailer.

Pentax owners are such decent and knowledgable people. I must admit to owning a toy camera from Panasonic (FZ7). I feel better now that`s in the open. Have yet to post anything from it though. I like my K10D too much. maybe though......... No it`s quality is too poor. Well maybe one day!

Hi barrie, This certainly draws a veil over this one then. Thanks for showing the difference. Back to the drawing board now.
