So, I've dug out my MZ6 new batteries in it and film on the way. Looking forward to going "Old School" just because. So who to use for developing and printing nowadays please?

Got to confess here that I`m gathering info for Daughter. I`m afraid it`s not me going, so, doing the dutiful parent bit I`m getting as much info as I can to support her visit. Dealing with a phone call from East Anglia is one thing but from The deep South is another.

Just looking for some advice and suggestions for a visit to the Antarctic region in their summer season. How to lower the risk of condensation etc. Keeping batteries warm and basically any thoughts would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

My twopeneth in here, Pentax need to hit the big market figures where wealth is growing. China, India etc. They need to be hitting huge numbers not necessarily with cameras but sport optics too.

Acceptable video quality is part of this, like it or not it`s what a huge number of purchasers go for and with the wonderful array of glass produced over the years Ricoh could be missing a trick. I just can`t hump a DSLR around all day, nowadays my go too is a Leica C Lux which is very ample for this person`s needs. I can switch to video quality and back to stills and the results for me are very pleasing. Don`t think I have a downer on Pentax, I was weaned on their kit but IMHO they look like they are pointing a loaded gun at their own feet. I do hope I wrong.

Hi HG, I just treated myself to one of the new royal Enfield Himalayans with a set of Givi panniers and top box. Now my right hand has been sorted I`m looking forward to rolling a throttle again soon. Will sort out a few pix soon too.

Hope everyone enjoyed this day. Mrs Cedric and I just chilled out as due to family work commitments we had our Christmas Day yesterday. Tomorrow it`s invasion day with 5 Grandsons and it`s going to be great.

I use a DA* 300 on my K1. It is superb. Also, using other DA lenses in crop mode produce a much higher quality image than I ever had on my K3. I rate the K3 highly and use it as a second body but it`s not in the same league as the K1.

For me, the DA*300 and 1.4 TC for shots of wild birds. So much better than the Sigma 150-500 I had previously. Oh, and a ball head for my tripod.

I definitely go with the Da*300 and 1.4 TC. Works well on a K3. I really need to try both together on my K1.

MAK and I tried them out today. I must say that I really liked the K3 and it`s alround performance was pretty much up there. Same as the K5 which MAK used. Pentax have come of age with the K1 IMHO. Everything about it that I have found so far is quite different in a positive manner. Yes, even a crop using 15m is superior to the 24m of the K3.

Given that I have only just fitted a strap, set the date & time and had a quick poke around with focus points and I`m pretty impressed. Can`t wait to have a longer session with it in my hot sweaty hands.

Aha! That`s a pain then. I was being rather hopeful, I guess I will have to bundle my 150 - 500 off to Sigma.
