Yes, I am a Samsung owner myself because I got a very cheap K20d in a different body.

But if Samsung go down an independent "GX-30" route rather than the "GX-7" route, are they still Pentax enough to be here. I'm not trying to start a camera apartheid, but wondered what others thought?

Who knows what Samsung's plans are. As far as I am concerned as long as the use the K fitting for their lenses then Samsung users are welcome here. Should they decide to develop their own fitting or go to one of the other makers then it's a different story.
We don't want to be like some Nikonians are with Fuji owners, do we?

If the K30 is actually better than the K-7 in ways that I would like (I think an articulated screen for liveview would be fantastic for macro) then I will have no hesitation in buying one instead of the Pentax ... as long as it uses K-Mount of course.

So yes (although I will vote ummm because it made me laugh).

Ha ha. Pentax have used Samsung sensors, not? I wonder how "independent" Pentax is. The question should be if Pentax-users should be allowed on this forum.

Anyway. I also have a Samsung body, but the glass put in front of it still say "Pentax" in bold letters. I hope it will be ok with everybody that I at least partipiate in the Lens-subforum (and perhaps take a sneak peak in General Chat)?

(Btw. What if Samsung eventually buys Pentax?)

I was going to ask if the heat was getting to you, then I saw where you live, so it must be something else!

Absolutely they should still be allowed!

If Samsung use a different lens fitting, then I question how usefull this Forum would be for future models - but I'd still expect GX-1S, GX-1L, GX-10 and GX-20 users to be very welcome here.

I'm responsible for two Samsung owners joining this forum so I suppose I have to say yes

I wouldn't have a problem with anyone joining (they might realise what a booboo they made and switch to Pentax:wink, in fact we already have a few members who own other brands, and even those who have gone over to the dark side completely

I voted "yes", assuming Samsung would stick to the K mount.

I will be surprised if Samsung does delevelop DSLRs independently, though. I would expect Pentax to have done a deal with Samsung to disallow that when they accepted its sensors. It's not in Pentax's interest for Samsung cameras to be possibly better.

I don't see why anyone should be explicitly excluded from joining this forum if they find it useful.

If Samsung move away from the trend of recent years where Pentax and Samsung cameras have been functionally almost identical then this forum will become less useful to Samsung users and I would expect to see fewer of them, but I wouldn't bar them specifically.

After all, we still let ttk hang around here and he's a Canon user now.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

Yes but he doesn't post photos here and do competitions.
Samsung cameras are allowed to do that, so I think it's more the question if Samsung owners are still allowed to post ans submit photos when the camera's aren't comparable anymore.

I'm with the K-mount part, lenses are more important then the camera after all.

TO be honest, I find the knowledge of photography on here far more useful than the knowledge of cameras. So I've voted yes.

I might even allow a Ni........ nope, can't bring myself to say it

competitions are an entirely separate issue, the question asked if Samsung are "Pentax enough for the forum"
