When I produce photos that are not as sharp as I would like, it is usually down to camera shake when not using a tripod.

However, when I first started using the Kx and the 18-55, I too wondered why so many shots seemed to be not quite in focus. I re-checked the diopter adjustment and moved it one stop. I think it's made a difference. Because I still don't trust my eyesight, I also use the annoying beep ....

I used to have a Pentax P30 (actually, I've still got it) but cast it aside when digital cameras came along.
Bought a non-SLR Olympus that was fine for a bit but I aways missed looking through the lens.

Having come across Dr O and Darkskies somewhere else who are both Pentax crazy, plus the feel of the Kx in my hot sticky hand - I was hooked.

I'm not nearly experienced enough in the technicalities of what I can get out of the Kx but having seen what others can do, there's hope yet. It's a great camera to learn with.

The Kx and the 3 lenses I have just feel right

Seeing No. 2 made me think of a new take on "Resusci Annie" .
Nice collection - I love No. 3 which could have looked nice in b/w.

Is that one of those 'house' pigs?
Erm ..... yes, she had just done rounds of the kitchen. She had also investigated the inside of the shoe!

A really nice set of photos. I've only seen a kingfisher once in my life so it's great to see photos of them.
I like the last wagtail too!

I posted this in the Gallery, but uncropped and unrefined, so some of you may well have already seen it. Dr Orloff has helped me to make this a more pleasing photo :
