I've just gone through the same thought process - easy to forget that it's a darned good lens when I've been using the 70-200 . The DA 55-300 is a cracker for street people shots.

This was very heavily cropped as this year it seems to be difficult to get close to them.

Great shots showing what it can do - it's a superb mid range lens, particularly on dull days as it lets in plenty of light.
If I hadn't already got one .....
