As a matter of interest, what is the object in the image?

If I had to guess, I'd say it was the Spud Nebula.

The second one is a double cable release intended for bellows and a special bellows macro lens.
And could possibly be used for a dual-camera stereo set-up?

I had a toaster explode a year or two back. Well, not so much explode as go bang, with a bright red flash and a puff of smoke. Mind you, the two pieces of bread in it were toasted to perfection, for a change.

I also have a copy of a story about an exploding Christmas pudding that someone posted to the old Guardian forum years ago, if anyone would like to read that? And I'm allowed to post it...

What sort of batteries are you using? My 33LF eats standard zinc/carbon batteries at an alarming rate. Alkalines last a bit longer. Not tried lithiums - too expensive.

Re-chargables seem to last a lot longer too.

Well spotted and captured, can't remember last time I saw one. Sad, used to be common.
True. We used to get a few Mistle thrushes hereabouts. Not seen any this year.

Or put a small mirror (shaving mirror? Borrow one of your other half's compacts?) on the window sill, angled to reflect the light to the remote-sensor?
