If you didn't need AF the Samyang 50mm f1.4 is excellent value at the current offer price of £230 at SRS.
Apparently it's quite easy to focus manually with.

I have to say I had you particularly in mind Derek...definitely worth a shot i'd say and the lens looks potentially very promising.

Good luck if you do.

I see on the ePHOTOZINE main site IRIX are holding a competition for macro users the winners of which get to test their new lens for a month.

As we have a few really good macro posters on here thought it might be of interest.

I don't do the social media they mention so no good to me otherwise i'd have entered as well.

Brilliant set Bill...love 'em. The different colours and textures really widen their appeal. Hard to choose a favourite though.

Agree that these would look good larger on a wall.

Excellent action shots those Nigel...i'd be delighted with them if they were mine.

Have to say though those skateparks look lethal to me...must keep the local A&E going!

I did a couple of sensor cleans on my K-x using the dry swabs on a stick that you drip a drop or two of cleaning fluid on...the remaining 3 or 4 i've used on my K-50 which seems to need a sensor wipe about once a year... (c5000 images). Was very tentative at first but now i've done it a few times i'm a bit more relaxed about it. Paid about £11 or £12 for the kit online so at about £2 a go its not bad really.

Really good shots, especially the last one showing as it does many of the modern iconic buildings mixed in with the history.

Good those Gareth.

Particularly like Nos 5 and 6.

Just watched the Peter Jackson WW1 documentary with lots of footage colourised from black and white...what a difference it made and what a programme. What a totally futile waste of human life.

I've just voted for you Daz...great image...good luck...keep us informed as to how you did after the voting.

Tomorrow when i've got a bit more time i'll revist the site and vote in the other categories.

cheers
