Apparently based on the Tamron model.

Dividing Euro price of 1199 by 1.15 to get Sterling rate means should be between £999 - £1099

Apparently speculation online that the D-FA 70-200F4 will be announced this week...price in Euros is said to be about 1200 so guessing will be about £1000-£1100 here.

To be 'on the safe side' i've always assumed rightly or wrongly that an item described as 'open box' might be a customer return under the 14 day cooling off/trial period
that some retailers seem to offer...usually these still come with full warranty so i'm assuming they have been tested to ensure they work as they would from new.

Playing around with imaging the lights and decorations on our tree using K-50/ 100mm f2.8 macro WR/ tripod.

Deliberately looking for abstract images mixing colour/light/bokeh/focus.

Most of the images fall short of the optical viewfinder image due mainly I think to inability of sensor to capture what human eye sees but these few are fairly close.
No.4 is simply a 'negative' with curves adjusted.

Best Wishes to all...have a happy and healthy New Year.

I particularly like the tower of stones shots Gareth...prefer the composition of the 3rd image but the colours in the 4th.

I've just taken delivery (for Christmas) of a Vanguard Alta Pro 2 263AGH (with GH100 gun shaped ballhead) for very competitive price of £100. GH100 on its own is £79 so effectively getting the tripod for about £20.

Unusually this is from Vanguard UK direct NOT a retailer and includes FREE next day delivery...quite a few other good deals on their site if anyone is interested.

Good those Nigel.

I've not yet progressed beyond your No.1 shot...will have another go to try for some greater variety like you've been able to achieve.

No.3 is excellent but No.4 is good as well.

Some great pricing on the Black Friday bodies...very pleased to see the K-70 at such a good price as it is now the 'entry' body and Pentax need this to sell to increase its customer base.

Lenses...am not very impressed tbh. Compared to last years prices and even pricing earlier this year on special offer...not very compelling, with the odd exception. All that they have done is bring prices down to near the old RRP before they massively hiked the RRP earlier this year.

Nicely decorated cake although the 'cake knife' looks a bit 'over the top'

Thx for the piccie of the APS-C.
