A Recent Portrait Shoot
like Thanks! Ah, now is that what would happen if we added a 'Like' button to this site ? :o Thanks also Stephen, Karlo & Mark  Mark, regarding the HSS situation with cactus .... firstly obviously, this particular portrait set does not use HSS (there is not ambient lighting in these shot...

Tiny snail, big camera
Haven't posted for a while, but this might be interesting. The 645 takes some getting used to as a macro camera, as 1:1 macro on such a large sensor isn't really very impressive. So big objects or, in this case, lots of extension tubes is the order of the day. This little fellow is about 7mm. As ...

Butterflies at Wisley, Identification needed - Image Heavy!
What set up did you use please? John - here's the advice I gave to a friend, I hope that it helps you:- Go during the week and AVOID school holidays (if that’s possible for you). Put a heat bag (or similar) in your camera bag on the way there to minimise the likelihood of your lens/camera misti...

Todays 5 images
I prefer the uncleaned up version. I think the beach looks unnatural, to smooth, not even a wrinkle in the sand. To clinical for me. I'm not against cleaning up where needed but not in this instance for me. CHEERS Vic.

A few from Muse Gig with the Q10
Very impressive. Just shows what these small sensor cameras can do these days. (I love Muse well, their early stuff, anyway.)

IR B/W
I have the R72 and got best results with my K-x, not sure why? Maybe it allows more IR light onto the sensor. I find also that the R72 is great for photographing old ruins, it has a way of making the stones contrast with the sky and giving an image a '3D' feel. The last shot best illustrates this...

Babbacombe, The English Riviera
Thanks Tim and Karlo .... That high rock with its single tree is really unusual and irresistible! And yes, lucky few with houses down there. The sky was a bit overexposed in that lower area of No3, and I had to pull it down. I've had some issues before with cyans and the K7 sensor, although here I ...

Santina and the K-1
Congrats on getting your first set with the K1! I know it was a bit of a last minute rush, but that's the advantage of sticking to the brand and camera type you know .... It's a breeze to get up and running when you need to! You had difficult conditions there, not ideal for the subject, but you've ...

First Moon Shot with my new K-3ii
I agree. That's as good as I've taken with my telescope, it just needs the noise cleaning up. Really nice.

Great Spotted Woodpeckers
A family of Great Spotted Woodpeckers with the K3 and DA 560mm. Big crops to lose the very bright sky. The sun was shining almost directly towards me. by , on Flickr by , on Flickr by , on Flickr by , on Flickr by , on Flickr

Garden visitor this afternoon
Actually I wasn't as close as it appears, there's so much image definition with the K-1 sensor it cropped really well. Uncropped image: Suppose ideally I could have used a longer lens but seems it didn't really matter. If that's not an advert for the K-1 I don't know what is! A good job there...

The Very Last One
Not a great shot (the subject is a hill-top monastery in Majorca) but a significant one as it's the last image taken with my old MX-1. It's been a reliable companion for me on my travels abroad over the last few years and although full of annoying quirks, its magical lens and sensor allowed me to ta...

Sorry about your bad news. Why not get another second hand? Or a Q7 or Q-S1 as they have a similar sensor. The trouble with buying other brands is getting familiar with another menu system so its always that bit less intuitive.

Sorry for your loss. Replacement? The answer is the K-S1 + a Ltd (or Ltd's) of your choice, which can be spread around your pockets, so no baggage allowance issues!!! Great IQ, light, APSC sensor, uses all your lenses and it's still a Pentax! Never mind all the nay sayers. I think mine is ...

So sorry to learn of your damaged camera. It is often useful to have something small, to slip into a pocket or a pouch in a shoulder-bag. Some miscellanous comments: a while ago the local university library started allowing readers to use cameras, but strictly no click-clack SLRs or anything tha...

what is wrong with this
So the answer would seem to have something to do with excessive cleaning, so maybe one boob is smaller than the other, or her bump is too shiny compared to the rest of her ?

a few more IR
not sure where the design for them came from, maybe from the days of the Raj as they are Victorian. ref the filters, i believe the numbers represent the IR wavelength they let through so in my case 720nm and 680nm , the lower the value the greater the amount of visible light that passes through a...
