A few recent shots
How can one person get more from a sensor than any other? If its not just differences in exposure settings, ISO choices etc, what else can be different in results from the same model between individuals? Could it be a change on processing approaches that you have made with your K5 files Andrew?

Misty Canal
A pleasing set. It's nice to see some tele-zoom landscapes. No.1 does need straightening a bit. I've just been using my K10 in Wales and am sure that the sensor is out of true.

RIAT 2014, JETS
Nigel, Thanks again for taking an interest. I agree, the more colourful planes make for the better imagery...just have to persuade the World's armed forces to do away with camouflage and low visibility paint jobs now! I was actually about halfway down the runway roughly 250m or so from the centrel...

This is why I prefer my K-5II over the K-3
It's an interesting debate, the K-5 has a little more latitude for bringing out shadow detail and is a little better at higher ISO's, but I still prefer to use my K-3 over the K-5IIs. The AF is more accurate (on my copies it is, I'm not claiming this is the case generally) and I like the way the se...

Three with the K-5IIs and DA*300
A good set David. Also the use of the glassless 2x is good advice to those that are not aware of such methods. I'm not raving about my K3. It's a very good camera. I don't have a K5 II as I'm waiting to see what Ricoh do at Photokina. If there's nothing of interest to me then I'll grab a K5 II varia...

The Bikes - Set One
Nice control of depth of field with the long lens. Always a brag of the larger sensor mob that they have such at their disposal and APS C can't cut it. Wrong i think!. I personally would have used TAV mode rather than AV so I had more of an eye/control over shutter as well. Then you only have to ...

Pentax M 50mm F1.4
Thanks russ it still produces nice pics!:D:D I know, I bought one myself recently, could have gone for a later model but the K10'S CCD sensor has a unique quality IMO.

Pentax are rubbish for wildlife....
How many time have we heard Pentax are rubbish/useless for wildlife....but I took this with my k-5 at ISO1600 in poor light where most other cropped sensor cameras would have struggled to get usable photos, but the judges obviously liked it as this got highly commended in BWPA! :D by , on Fli...

Blea Tarn
They're all very good Carl, really like them, but the last one beats them all! Yes, I know the large tree on the right is cut off, but never mind, thats the shape of the sensor isn't it ... What I enjoy most about the last one is the way it draws you in and through, sort of curving from the foregrou...

Five in a Row ... Nigels Jurassic Coast
'Flying start' is probably the wrong phrase, given your nautical perch, but I think it's a terrific shot. I love the colour rendition and don't recall my K-7 ever recording crisp detail on a scale to match those cliff-face textures.... Very nice work. Thank you Simon, very glad you like it. Yes, I t...

Southport Air Show
Thanks. I was about to say that most of that will be my amateur-ish attempts to clone out the marks on the original that are either on the lens, in the lens, or on the sensor. I was planning to upload the unedited image as a comparison, but then it seems to have little in the way of marks when I...

Marlow Churchyard
Thank you for your good response, Nigel. You could be right about the #1. As the subject of the set was the churchyard, the photos move the viewer closer in, starting with a view of the full width (length?) of it. To get that view, the shot was taken from the bridge. Any further to the left might...

Boats
remarkably clean images for a K7.. Nice stuff. Thats interesting - since I joined the forum (when I got my K7 in March 2012) I have very rarely seen others post pictures taken with the model ... its almost as if anyone who had it offloaded them as soon as possible. So I have seen very few other ...

Five in a Row - Bwlchmawr
Thursday Buying Fish The MX-1 is not a perfect camera. It's too big, heavy and ugly for what it is. There's no viewfinder, the articulating screen looks like it was fitted by a blacksmith and the operating system is glacial in its slowness when processing files. When I move form this little...

Five in a Row - Bwlchmawr
Friday The Sierra Nevada It's taken me a while to get to grips with the K5 and, to be honest, faced with a landscape in good light and the opportunity to use 100 ISO I'd still prefer the K10 every time. But in low or harsh lighting the K5's remarkably malleable files are very forgiving. The...

First outing with my Q10
I see my Q as very much the party and holiday outfit, having spent my entire working life carting around flightcases full of very heavy equipment its a real delight to carry a body and five lenses in a tiny little bag that weighs next to nothing and delivers quality that no one can believe from such...

First outing with my Q10
A fine set which should banish all doubts about what the camera can do. There's such a variety of subjects and, more important, lighting. I know what you mean about wishing you'd taken the K3 (well, K5 in my case) but, to be honest, unless you're going to make large prints, the quality of files ...

First outing with my Q10
The Q and Q10 share the same small sensor. The Q7 and Q-S1 have the slightly larger sensor like the MX-1. All give very nice results though and I've even made very acceptable A3 prints from both sensor sizes.
