If your camera has the dust detection system (I think K-5 onward) then it shows it as if you were looking at the sensor. It does all the reversing for you. But only if using the dust detection system; if looking at an actual image, then it is as Jimd says.

Pentax K-S2 or Pentax K-70 ?
I traded in my K-S2 for a K-70, and know it to be a good decision for me for the following reasons: 1. Sensor is far less prone to noise, especially in low light 2. Sensor has higher pixel count, therefore capable of higher resolution photos which can matter when cropping. 3. Much improved gri...

PEF's and exposure bracketing?
Well sure, but that's not really optimising the exposure or getting the best possible output, it's really a technical compromise for when the DR exceeds the sensor's capability. A good one, but still a compromise.

Well sure, but that's not really optimising the exposure or getting the best possible output, it's really a technical compromise for when the DR exceeds the sensor's capability. A good one, but still a compromise. Agreed.... Though to side with Algi a little. I would always choose .DNG files over .P...

PEF's and exposure bracketing?
Completely different. There are three parameters we can change. Aperture dictates how much depth of field we have. Shutter speed dictates how moving objects will be frozen sharp or not. ISO dictates the sensitivity of the sensor and therefore the amount of noise (grain) visible in an image. If on...

Pentax to Sony lens adapters
.I thought you wanted fast auto focussing, that sounds like a step backwards! ...and more compact lenses designed to get the best out of the sensor...

Finally succumbed
Moving to mirrorless, change is required to: - Focus method (equivalent to live view focusing). - Viewfinder. Most everything else is the same, including ergonomics, menu systems, physical mode/adjustment dials, sensor, battery, SD card slots, SR, mechanical shutter etc I believe there's m...

Finally succumbed
If anyone's after a light Pentax DSLR, look no further than the K-S1. It'll eat most m4/3rds for breakfast! Comparison sites are a little strange though, such as: https://cameradecision.com/compare/Pentax-K-S1-vs-Olympus-OM-D-E-M10-Mark-III This rates the K-S1 higher in all categories bar one ...

Dear Pentax, this is good bye.
Elements of this story read the same for me, and realistically it's the ease of staying put and lack of money that's keeping me with Pentax now. I haven't gone as far as working out what selling all my gear could bring in, but I'll probably consider it at some stage. It's no secret I'm into video,...

Dear Pentax, this is good bye.
but damn.. it would have been nice if Pentax had just re-badged the Samsung nx1 with a fully compatible Kmount lens mount or adapter... Apparently Samsung have dropped sales and marketing of digital cameras and camcorders in the UK due to a fall in demand https://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/lates...

Dear Pentax, this is good bye.
Samsung cameras were Doomed! from the minute they switched over to mirrorless  There is a rumour that Pentax might use a Samsung sensor in a future camera. Pentax celebrate 100 years next year and I expect a Big Bang! from the explosion of the new releases  --

New computer
Most Photoshop stuff just uses a single core. A lot of the code is probably quite old plus the work can't be split up. I don't do video, but if I did, I'd look up what is needed to offload some of the processing to the GPU it's supposed to save some time. I think Intel do something. For any PC ...

A mini rant.
Yeah I lost the top screen when I moved to the K-30 and K-S1 but all the top screen info is on the rear screen, and larger and clearer to read. Top screens look like 1990's calculator technology  I have it again on the K-3 but I now don't feel it's necessary, or a viable point of difference...

Justification
I have been asked the question, and pointed out that it functions like it’s been designed by photographers and essential controls can be accessed without needing to go into the menu. On top of that the unique (for dslr) IBIS means all lenses have anti-shake and the moveable sensor so recently adopte...

Justification
Pentax for me came from the film days, as mentioned by others above, and mean t I could use the same lenses on both body types. Later when I upgraded it was because Pentax offered the best features for the price. Nowadays it's probably a mix of convenience, emotional attachment, muscle memory/kn...

Camera Died???
Your 18-135 is a crop lens and I don't think will cover the FF sensor. The DFA* 70-200 is obviously FF. The K1II has three settings for crop : aps-c/FF/Auto. If you leave t on auto it will swap between the two modes depending what is mounted. In crop mode you can see a black border superimpose...
