Pentax Q with Auto 110 Lenses Using an Adapter
Yes, I've tried the 50mm and 70mm. 50mm not too bad and useable but as Ken says really bad CA with the 70mm and hellish difficult to focus hand held. Of course with Pentax lenses like the 300mm Da* it's brilliant.

Pentax Q for wildlife video
Thanks - but it was really easy. Heard the youngster calling as I was walking on a nearby path. There was a less used sidepath where I set my tripod up. A good 25 metres away with the hole about 15 feet up, north facing of course. No hide , just the cover of a bush. Bird was completely unaware of my...

Pentax Q7
For £226 you should buy two and sell one back here! I think NYC has plans for the rest of my cash, but I do need to find out if I am going to get stung by any import duty?

Pentax Q & DA 18-55
Here are some snaps accompanied by 100% crops. They are not scientific. I could pop the camera on a tripod and photograph a brick wall but these are just some real world handheld shots, how I would use the setup if I did actually use it. I do find the setup a little fiddly but you get used to it....

My k-01 review
Having a couple of long mf lenses I liked the idea of attaching the k-01 for the reduced weight and focus peaking through the rear LCD, something i find difficult on the k-5 mki and mkii despite recent improvements. The k-01 with Tamron 400mm f/4 The k-01 has a love it hate it relationshi...

My k-01 review
given recent prices by SRS of less than £200 the k-01 is a massive bargain and makes a great carry round camera. I couldn't agree more, I bought one from amazon with the 40mm XS lens at £299. With that lens its almost pocketable, but I use a belt pouch. I find I take it to many places I wouldn't h...

Third party K adapter for Q
I have difficulty holding any lens hand-held with the Q! Even a 50mm f/1.4 is still 275mm, and with such a shallow DoF it can be pretty tricky to focus accurately. I bought a reasonably priced one that has its own aperture ring (crude and inaccurate as it is) and a small tripod mount. Have used ...

Q and street
Get a viewfinder and you don't need the monitor, save battery life and I like it better. The Pentax one is a bit expensive but there are lots of old ones around that do a reasonable job. I have an old Braun Paxette one that is ok. It covers a range of focal lengths. I also have a Yashyca one that...

K-01 - First Outing & Images
Seems that it may be a keeper David :D Now... what colour is it :?: just so we can spot you in a crowd once we know:lol: It's the silver one with black trim! Trouble is, I won't be able to prise it out of my son's hands - he's drooling over it because of the focus peaking and video capability! ...

K-01 - First Outing & Images
Sincere thanks to all above who have taken the time and trouble to comment on my images and this thread in general. I've only used the K-01 once and whilst it is not in the same league ergonomically as a DSLR, it certainly punches its weight in terms of image quality. My first impressions are: ...

K-01 - First Outing & Images
Some very nice shots, the shot I am drawn to is the teasels, just really like that one, have you tried or planning to have a pop at some macro shots with it? I'm not sure that macro would be its forte as I think the focussing would be difficult. Not because it's not capable, but because focussing o...

K-01 - First Outing & Images
Using the LCD in bright sunlight is very difficult (not sure how much of a problem that is in the UK ), so I added a Delkin LCD shade which helps noticeably. And, further, focus peaking colors like the competition would be a big usability plus (but I started another thread about that).

Q7 Review up...
The difference in sensor size has an impact on the lens line up. I wanted a normal prime and a wide prime combination for the Q but I suspect it will now not be wide enough as it will be developed for the larger sensor. That's if it ever arrives. So I have pixel peeped the samples so I can consid...

Q7 Review up...
That's too limiting for me as image quality for landscape is simply not good enough to make it a serious DSLR back-up. It isn't and wasn't meant to be a DSLR backup :?
