Live view zoom and focus peaking disappeared
I updated by Pnetax Q to the latest firmware, and now I can seem to get Live view zoom and focus peaking and can't find where to turn them off or on in the menus. Has anyone else noticed this or know how to fix it?

Live view zoom and focus peaking disappeared
Hi Neil, I think these are all in the focus settings in the camera menu, tab 1, 4th item down 'Focus Settings'. George

Live view zoom and focus peaking disappeared
It happens when you update and there is a place in the menu to switch it off. Have a look through, you'll find it.

Live view zoom and focus peaking disappeared
Thanks guys, I had a good scan through the menus before I posted, but I must have missed it somewhere. Now I have a slightly bigger problem in that I can't find the camera! Guess that's the problem with it being so small!

It's worth making a note of all your custom settings before updating firmware because everything will go back to the factory default

K5 chip in a small camera
Once we stray away from the Pentax bodies, we lose one of the nicest Pentax features, that wonderful colour reproduction. I do understand that from time to time we could feel tempted by a fantastic array of alternative makes, but every time I've come back to Pentax. The GR is a great camera, but ...

K5 chip in a small camera
The GR is an incredible camera, it's the most photographer-centric camera I've ever used, incredibly well-designed, small, plus it takes fantastic images. I don't think there's another camera that comes anywhere near it for what it is, ie a fixed focus, incredibly well designed and highly capable bi...

K5 chip in a small camera
No dx sized mirrorless in the pipeline? I have 2 beautiful (15 and 21mm) SE lenses, but decided I need something nice to use them on or sell both. Going back to a dslr is no option for me.

MX-1 niggles
Just some niggles that I really wish could be updated with firmware (hint, hint Ricoh!!) I know these aren't high priority for this level of camera, but I can still wish... :D * There is no option to save the last JPG as RAW. The dSLRs and Q allow you to press the AV/AE-L button to save the bu...

MX-1 niggles

New MX-1 owner and a question re rear screen
I purchased an MX-1 as a Christmas present for my wife. She has never had any problems with useability, but she did manage to scratch the screen, before the glass protector I ordered arrived. I tried to polish out the scratches but instead rubbed away the anti reflective coating. I paid heavily for ...

Q10 at SRS prices
I had a Q a while back, I sold it on because I couldn't get used to a camera without a view finder. BUT having taken up cycling again as part of my cardivascular recovery I've got tired of luging around a DSLR in a slingshot so I've bought another, fits great in the leg pockets of cargo shorts.

Q10 or MX1?
Take both..one in either pocket. And I'd get a Q7 rather than Q10. But that's just me... greedy. In all seriousness I'd take a two lens Q7 kit before an MX 1 for versatility, but the MX 1 is a smashing compact..so we're back where I started...get both!!

"Blunty" Reviews the Q-S1
It encourages experimentation and puts the joy back in photography. In a practical sense, it's brilliant when a low key and unobtrusive camera is required. I share Blunty'#s enthusiasm, as does Ken (gartmore).

Re: Pentax mirrorless
PS. How many people have taken how many photos over ISO 25,000? Just interested:wink: Not on my Pentax, and that's the point I think you're missing here. Having low noise / High ISO capabilities allows you to shoot with faster shutter speeds and wider depth of fields than you otherwise would...

"Q" tastic!
Or a pait of cheap reading glasses in my case ;) Beautiful shot Dave :) I have Q and adapter available in the classifieds if anyone's interested? I leave the glasses behind (generally because I forgot them!) and use focus peaking!

Video autofocus using Q10
You can do this on the K30 so would imagine you can do it in some of the other Pentax range. Yes, but the Q isn't a DSLR so AF would be silent and ought to be very fast. Yes thats true - I always manual focus instead but AF is there if you want it.
