I think the original Q holds a bit more charm, I had one for a while and it was a lovely tactile bit of kit. Image quality not the best, but for small prints or web viewing it was fine, plus it was small enough to always have with you, and the user-friendliness made you want to shoot.
It's a curious choice changing the sensor size, it will have implications for Q and Q10 owners when it comes to new lenses (as someone suggested wide-angle is now likely to be geared towards the new sensor, so not so wide on the originals), and it's not like the change in sensor size is going to give a huge upgrade in image quality.
Good to see they are continuing with it though. Image quality aside, I think the Q gets far more right than the K-01 did.

I agree. The IQ of the new Q7 looks significantly better and with the wider effective focal length the 01 prime might just negate the need for a wider angle. But the Q looks and feels much better and I'm a bit miffed that Pentax hoodwinked customers over the wide angle, so I won't be upgrading to a Q7. They can attach the ridiculous mount cap lens where the sun doesn't shine.

oh well, i guess the next gen Q if they can make it look like the original, but with Q7 sensor, then they are onto a winner!
