BORE DA
[quote:3496ace15f="DERYN"]Hi and hello to all from sunny N.Wales. (yes it is raining at the mo' !) I ventured into the world of DSLR's late last year and bought myself a K10. Regrets ? none. It's a solid piece of kit and as I'm out and about in all weathers the camera always feels capable of copi...

New Starter
Welcome to the forum Gary. I don't use the older mounts myself but you need to know which M42 adaptor to buy since most models aren't flushed so you lose infinte focus when using them, the original Pentax one is so far as I know one of the best. You also might get some trouble with underexposure...

Photographer Noob
Well at least I have cancelled before they sent it. I will ring up tomorrow if they are open and check that when they will cancel the charge on my card and then order from Chris at SRS. Most of these internet sellers such as play.com have a clause in their conditions saying that there isn't a contra...

migrating from SLR to DSLR
I bought my LX and K2 in 1981 and used them both up till about 2002, when I got lazy and bought my first P&S digital compact. It just seemed easier with digital just to carry it in your pocket and snap away as the kids were growing up I bought the LX after taking my first photos on a Nikon FM and...

migrating from SLR to DSLR
Hi bodyheat i would rather have 2 k20's than 1 k7. It may be less responsive than the Canon but Pentax offers different attributes than other manufacturers such as in body SR / dust and weather sealings and like snootchies says some quality glass ranging back over the last few decades.

migrating from SLR to DSLR
I guess I have to wait till I can hold it in my hands and see how I feel. The size looks good and I am sure it will have a solid body built like a (small) tank I have some very good lenses from the 1980s so am not rushing out to buy those right now as long as I can get great results with the mete...

migrating from SLR to DSLR
The prices of the K20D will only plummet so far. Second hand K10D go for around £275 - £300. Compared to that, the price of a new K7 will drop rapidly over the coming months. So, from a long-term point of view, I would see it something like this: K20D now for £500, sell for £300 in 6 months. (lo...

migrating from SLR to DSLR
Yes, but he needs to know Pentax is alive and kicking first to even look for it. Shop managers tend to be passive by nature (i.e. the nature of their business is that they wait for people to come to them) and are not as pro-active and keen to be kept abreast as we are as camera and photography enthu...

migrating from SLR to DSLR
K100D is a good camera I believe but you might better look at the K100D super and up since they can work with the new KAF3 lenses with the K100D you will loose auto-focus with them. £251 seems a bit high for a K100D surely when camparing how much the K-M is new. I thought that K10D went for a bit...

migrating from SLR to DSLR
Umm... well I hope passive shop managers aren't a trend for their sakes because it will come back to bite them  At least we know one that is far from passive (lucky for us) :) Joking aside I understand where you are coming from, as a matter of fact I visited LCE in Guildford a few years ...

migrating from SLR to DSLR
ah okay, I wasn't sure  :) I don't know to be honest, the K100D is surely a good camera but it doesn't offer more then the K-M I believe besides the more focus points. Probable the ask for them keep the price high, maybe when the K200D and K20D come more in the secondhand market the price ...

hello from thoramay
Hello Thora...welcome to the site. I have tried to do the same but I found you have to be fairly close to the camera in order for the firing to work well. I did however find that the setting stayed the same every time...even after it went into sleep mode. I did take self portrait pictures...you...

Welcome, Birds are fast. I didnt realize it until I tried to shoot with remote (F). Exposure time must be really fast - or everything is out of focus. The result I got you can see here I had exp time 1/1250 !!! Even with that most of the pics were blur. This was my first time to catch b...

Hello from Swindon
I used to live in Wantage and shopped in Swindon a lot. Took the kids to the pool there too. We're talking back in the early 80's here mind. Haven't been back for years.
