The smallest ever SLR

They took great little photographs. Mine was mostly used with slide film. It now languishes in the back of my camera drawer.

The smallest ever SLR

see I thought about that, even got as far as considering dismantling an old Pentax EI-100 which I have lying around, but I don't think there's space behind the film plane without extending the back of the camera. There's a test reported on www.pentax110.co.uk which has the System 10 24mm outperfo...

The smallest ever SLR

anyone on here fancies a go then drop me a PM and I'll send you a camera to play with/strip for parts. Postage costs only, I'm just interested to see if anyone can make it work... :? :D An interesting project, however, it might be hard to make work as there would need to be some way to activate t...

The smallest ever SLR

The "Mode" button doubles as the power on/off - the power will automatically switch off after a period of inactivity too. There are no obvious screws in the construction, rather it looks like the upper and lower halves of the case snap together in a clamshell fashion. If you'd like to ...

The smallest ever SLR

You'll have to ask beakynet - I did send him a couple of the digicams to have a play with but not heard anything since so I'm guessing it's not as easy as it sounds..? :? The digicam sensor is very small, and then there is the issue of the 'almost' integrated lens! My last 110 film was returned w...

What does this fit?

I think I see slot-headed screws there, which leads me to think that it may go as far back as the original Spotmatic. Like Reuben, I agree that it is definitely for the Spotty series. Put it back on eBay with the correct description and I'm sure it will sell. Good Luck with finding one that...

An experiment

Not having £600 to purchase the Sigma lens I wanted and being very dissatisfied with my 2x converter I spotted this for $99 and decided to give it a go: It is a Bower 2x converter that goes on the front of the lens! (62mm thread) Here are my test shots (only to illustrate speed and magnifica...

An experiment

I would try to set up a good test situation first. Taking pictures through glass will nearly always affect lens performance, and the longer the focal length the worst the affect will be. Get outside and try again using a tripod. Try several shots with slightly varied focus 'cos I find I can't always...

My Macro Kit

thank you guys both; I guess I must find another way to get a magnification ratio bigger than 1:1 (extension tubes seem to be a solution at first; but if you use it with a fix focal length (for example my tamron 90mm); it means that you can only focus objects nearly from 2-3 cms.. even if you try to...

Unfortunately there is no way of adapting Canon lenses to the Pentax mount as Canon use a wider "mouth" Not entirely true. You can get a mount, but it won't provide infinity focus because the lens will have to be placed in front of the body. This is not exactly a disadvantage in macro work. ...

hey; here is just the place I need to be in :) in fact, I read a lot about the tele converters and I used one with my ex Zenit; but the picture went pale when I used it... so I will buy one, but I don't expect a satisfying image quality with it... Mannesty; you seem to work with a "RAYNOX DCR 25...

well; I'm interested in every kind of macro shooting :) but I will have the chance to shoot at "home" more often; because I live somewhere very cold and winter lasts very long here; and I will have to stay at home for a long and whole winter... but I like to shoot "flowers" even at home or at outsi...

Don't shush! We like to hear how people get on with their equipment! :D It sounds like you could probably achieve good results with your existing Tamron 90 - a teleconverter would allow you to effectively increase the focal length while still allowing you to focus to 1:1 (although image quality w...

sorry to break the present train. I am into macro and even with a tripod, my clumsy hand can take the focus out. This is a question for George Lazarette. Where can I get that adapter to hookup a canon lens to my Pentax K20D. By the way nice photo's. Richard Labelle These people ( ) will make you up an adapter to attach pretty much any lens to any camera you want - just don't forget that Canon lenses won't f...

Latest "M" Purchase Need Another For The Prime Set

I know, saw your post about it. I think your BIN price is very fair. Can you tell me more on the issue of purple fringing and CA ? Specially when used on a K10D? That is of some consern for me. Martin. I'm afraid I only have a DS so it might be behave differently on the K10. A lot of people go o...

All the "M" Well almost (before the hammer falls)

That is an awesome collection! If it were me I wouldn't be in any hurry to sell it off. I've been thinking recently about getting an MX just to have a play with (using my current lenses) - any thoughts on which of the M series cameras is the best? I'm quite happy with all-manual camer...
