Longstock Park Water Gardens
Owned by the John Lewis Partnership along with Leckford Abbas and much of the Leckford Estate. Longstock Park Water Gardens is small but beautifully tended. It is such a peaceful and beautiful place with a good variety of flora and fauna - there are many beautiful views of the waters but I find the ...

Longstock Park Water Gardens
Lovely, John - right up my street, as you can probably imagine! Beautiful range of colours and enhanced by the out of focus backgrounds.

Aren't we lucky.....
I can only agree with you Rob. We regularly stay at the big white house on the headland above Port Quinn (National Trust) and sometimes it can be so peaceful you do indeed think, "Aren't we lucky". We will be back this year and looking forward to a Sunday roast at the farm shop you recommended.

Meeting of Ways (fishy...)
Yesterday I went butterfly hunting along the top of a cutting that had been specially seeded with wildflower mix about 10 years ago by way of environmental compensation for the new road which was the reason for the cutting. The camera was the K3, the chosen lens was the DA*300mm + 1.4TC (they are at...

Few bird shots from yesterday morning.
The Yellowhammer is great. The other two are nice and sharp but could really have benefited from you stepping back a little to get more of a sideways view (IMO) although I know it can be difficult sometimes. Well caught on the Swallow though, I have never managed to photograph one perched.

Few bird shots from yesterday morning.
Thank you peeps. :) "Very rare these days round our way. " - They have been back each year now probably 3 - 5 years to my knowledge but only last 2 years have I snapped them. The Whitethroat is a first for me (picture taken in same shoot [I think] but in another thread), but I haven't seen t...

Getting my website in order and adding 'Projects' to it so I'm going through my back catalogue to find images to suit. Came across this image that I've reworked. Pentax K1 & DA* 60-250mm by , on Flickr

Garden delights
Thanks for all the comments - I hadn't used a ring flash for some time so thought I combine it with the SMC Pentax A 100mm f2.8 Macro on a wander round the garden. It's helped me decide to get rid of my D FA 100mm f2.8 WR Macro - both are excellent lenses but I can't remember the last time I neede...

Food Festival at Barry
Headed down to Barry Island today for some food and to grab some images. Only stayed an hour as the car park here is £1 for the first hour and then a flat rate of £6 thereafter! On the way down the heavens opened, wipers were on double speed as the rain that fell in large blobs like small water ball...

a few from rhyl
In Wales there is a journal called Offline that features photographers and photography here in Wales. The journal is by subscription only but you can still get some back issues separately. Only saying as the last journal featured the work of 4 street / space photographers in North Wales. One gentlem...

Two Birds from Today's walk.
Yes, greenfinch. The yellow flash on the wings is a giveaway for both male and female. A small, brownish or greenish bird with that yellow flash is a greenfinch, you don't need to see anything else. Nice pics. I like the way the out of focus foliage in the second one frames the bird and draws att...

Fantastic friendly photogenic fox cub
Excellent photos :). It's photos like this that challenge my reasoning that getting a K3iii wouldn't do anything for the sort of photography I do. Just a few days ago I was out at the same time as you but having close(-ish) encounters with nightjars. Didn't bother taking a camera (K3) because the li...

Fantastic friendly photogenic fox cub
Outstanding images. Says so much not only about the camera but the person taking the shot. Kudos. Many thanks for your praise. Like a lot of wildlife photography, it's about being in the right place at the right time .... and, often, a lot of patience. When I got there I stood and waited. Two ap...
