Cornwall through a soft focus lens
That's a lovely set Rob - I never got the best out of that lens (I think my A*85 was more often the choice for the camera bag) but I do remember that when used at smaller than f8 it was a beautifully sharp lens. I hear it said that soft focus effects can be added in post processing, but I'm no...

Cornwall through a soft focus lens
I hear it said that soft focus effects can be added in post processing, but I'm not sure the beautifully soft halo-ing on that first shot and the fluffy backgrounds would be the same 8) Thanks LennyBloke, I have tried unsuccessfully to get the soft effect in Lightroom and Photoshop but then I am onl...

Cornwall through a soft focus lens
Love that soft focus look, back in the day I had the Cokin soft focus filters, classic pre millennial look! Last 2 for me 8)

Deforestation at Pysgodlyn Mawr
It might well be like that for the long term health of the forest. In a natural forest, some trees would fall from old age every year, swathes of trees would be blown down by storms once in a while etc. Nobody would remove them, it would look a mess in the short term, but it's all part of the great...

Stock Ghyll Force - Ambleside
+1 for #3. And taking a very critical viewpoint, I wonder whether it would be even better with a slight crop at the bottom to remove the darker, shaded lower end of that big, green rock - a subtle change but to my eye (brain?) it helps focus attention on the bridge rather than the rock. Steve

K135mm f/2.5
As some of you will know, in an attempt to get away from the 2021 blues I have been doing the "Single in ...." challenge on the US fora. Basically, one tries to take and post one image a day for a month using the same lens. This month I have been using one of the first K-series primes I purchased,...

On the rocks again.
Nice set! Yup, hyper focusing is your friend, remember to focus roughly 1/3 into the scene and chimp after to check 8)

Osteospermum with a Red background.
Thank you all for the nice comments. I had 'smudged out a hairline on the stem as it was in the other pics, I thought it was on the lens. Just been back in the garden to check for the bug, no bug but found a cat's hair was gently attached to the stem!!!! :):)

15 of the Avro Shackleton
A few years back we had a camera club member who used to be a navigator on the Shakletons. He had the one sided deafness that was common amongt the aircrews, something to do with the noise distribution in the aircraft in flight. At the time it was possible to arrange to crawl inside the Shakleton t...

Images from around Aberthaw
Here's a few taken from the exterior path that surrounds a power station that recently was switched off permanently due to its polluting emissions. These are the first images taken as part of my opening project for year 3 in university that officially gets under way in September but I'm making a sta...

Images from around Aberthaw
That place really lends itself to a 'prison camp' security perspective and I commented to myself, when the scene came up, "Ah, those chimneys have got potential." And the very next image ...? The monochrome treatment is superb. You have got me seriously considering a similar course simply due to wh...

So work on the wing had to stop
and back home from lunch, opened the conservatory door and straight in, waiting for food. The old hand towel is there in case of accidents when it's inside, but it doesn't stand on it! Best regards

20 more of the Boys Village - St Athan
Popped back down to the boys village at St Athan as a few local people who saw them asked about other locations and features and I felt I hadn't documented it fully if they had been left out so I needed to add those images to the full set to complete the documentation of the space before it's gone. ...

Testing the MX SLR.
I have been out cycling to test the MX with a Black and white film, been waiting a while for my local shop to get Kodak Color Plus but gave in to be sold Ilford SP2 super 400, so out midday yesterday and same today. Bright sun meant I used filters, then the clouds disappeared. :? The MX was treated...

Testing the MX SLR.
Nice set. It is fun going back in time with a film camera. Now did you glance at the back of the camera after taking a picture ? :D

"Nice set. It is fun going back in time with a film camera. Now did you glance at the back of the camera after taking a picture ? " Hmm, no I don't think so but then I only picked up a DigitalSLR two and a half years ago (not counting using a mobile). Never used a digital camera between mid / la...
