Yes I figured, just wondering if the website is more knowledgeable than the clerk Chris was not in today I don't think otherwise I would have asked him.

No matter, will pop in on Saturday to get a 50-135 and if Chris is in I will ask him about the 40mm availability.

Excellent, I do have the receipt which is dated and all bit of a relief that. Shame about the weather today so I can't go around, the camera is better weather sealed than I am

I went today to SRS to buy the 40mm but they said no stock and not a clue when they will get any. Went to their website and the lens happily is there ready to be purchased... any ideas? If I buy it from the online and they do not have it in stock would the website let me know?

Not sure this is in the correct place so if not mods can you move it. I just got my K-5 today and the warranty card is inside however it says that for it to be valid it has to be filled, dated and stamped by the retailer who sold it to me, as it was online and that hasn't happened what am i to do?

18-135 is a very average lens so I wouldn't blame it all on the camera

Not a candle compared to the K-5 though and rightly so of course.

Yes go ahead, the K-r is a nice camera, give yourself a bit of time to familiarise with your new camera then when on your holidays you will be more comfortable with it and concentrate on taking pictures as opposed to trying to find your way around

Very valid point, 15mm on a cropped body is not all that wide. If you want something really wide a 8-16,10-20 is a much better bet, I found even my Nikkor 12-24 not as wide as I would have liked. What I am trying to get at is that if 18 at your 18-55 is not good enough the 15 might not be enough either so I'd go for a 10-20 / 8 -16 personally

An expensive lens that is, especially for a 50something one
I think the 55mm f1.4 needs to be looked at as a replacement in digital terms for an 85mm f1.4 portrait lens. These were never cheap, and in this context the price looks about right.
I can't help but compare it with the FF compatible 50mm AF-S 1.4 Nikon that goes for less than 300...
