The only caveat might be that for about half the price or less of the latest Tamron 90mm macro you could get the Adaptall SP version + Pka adaptor which would be optically pretty much the same. No autofocus but you might be manually focusing for macro anyway. Just a thought.

I've only used a polariser on an 18-55mm kit lens experimenting with the sun shining on some brightly coloured lilies and couldn't see a lot of difference but that could have been due to my rubbish eyesight and lack of experience

You don't want a polariser on all the time. Some togs advocate use of a UV filter for lens protection.

Anyone used the standard thickness on this lens or the Hoya dual filter UV/Polarising.

Solutions: Use solutions as above. Always take "landscape". Go and look at some tripods and when funds allow etc..

Now the stupid question: Are these lenses designed for use on a Pentax camera without any other adapter eg. Adaptall 2 P/KA ? That would be another £60+ on the price so not such a bargain.

I am toying with the idea of selling my Tamron 90 (AF). Excellent lens, but I'm just not doing any macro, and have just bought a fast tele.
Were you toying with a price and does it have the p/ka adadpter
