Speaking of things in the way, I've often found that while out driving I see something worth a shot, but there is nowhere to park on the narrow country roads. Once or twice I've found somewhere to put the car safely, but then in walking back up the lane to get the shot I've found that the car is now an unwanted element of the picture... a hazard of very wide-angle lenses. D'oh!

Noticed this spider disgorging something from its mouth. If it was its mate does it prove you can't keep a good man down

I remember when TIM was the speaking clock on the telephone, are they perhaps related? I think we should be told.

I've been on both sides, called and caller, whilst working as a "financial adviser". It certainly changed my attitude to these calls, no slamming the phone down or abuse, rather like answering the door to Jehovahs Witnesses, Mormons etc. Believe me it is a thankless job and I'd hate to be in a position where it was the only "work" available as it is for many people now. Of course now I don't answer the telephone and rarely the door for the reason stated earlier. A polite No is as easy to say than as a tirade of abuse. Do you swear at the assistant in a store when approached? After all they are "Cold Calling" too.

Good question. I feel there is a scam in there somewhere. Usually the pics i include in ebay listings show the serial number. I keep a note of the serial numbers of the stuff I sell in case somebody tries to return a different item claiming i sent them a broken one.
A greater number of sellers are also saying the item is "security" marked. A deterent to would be rouges

I've never felt I could find a definitive answer to this, so perhaps someone can help.

Sometimes potential eBay buyers ask for the serial number of a camera. Now on the face of it I don't mind one bit telling them, but I am aware that some sellers will not reveal the number.

I can't think of what scam might make it unwise, so what do you do and why?
If they are buyers perhaps they want to do a search on Immobilise to see if the number is registered their or something to that effect?

One of my favourites games to ask them to hold on for a second while I go and get a pen, put my phone on mute, continue what I was doing and see how long they wait before hanging up. My record is nearly 20 minutes!
One of the joys of being deaf is I never answer the telephone although I do have a mobile which I use for emergency text only
