How do you take advantage of the free p/p when ordering online from from SRS?
I don't use the telephone as I am deaf but I was told there was free p/p for PU members

Lens is in good condition with front and rear caps and no scuff marks on the plastic or rubber fittings and takes great images.

There is a small speck of dust on the inside of the rear element towards the edge but this in no way affects the images.there is no box but it will be VERY well packaged.
Looking for £65.00 inc postage.

Once an item is sold in the classified forum could it be removed. This would prevent disappointment and time wasting.

Almost new, had it about 6 months, it was an insurance replacement so virtually brand new. I don't use it as much as I should and I need the funds for another lens. It is complete with the original box, documentation, caps and bag. Looking for £500.
I am crying while I type this.

It's not very PC, but my mother told me that when she was young kids would tie cotton thread to the noses and 'fly' them!
Also not very PC to fall about laughing when reading this ...
Great photos, but even better story,
Thank you for sharing.

and contrary to John's comment about Sigma lenses, works perfectly
The problem usually comes later when a new body is introduced and the Sigma lens has to be re-chipped. It has happened in a few instances and in severe cases has been impossible to do. Minor problems include misreporting of the lens in the EXIF data.
I hope my camera a recently purchased K7 lasts as long as the first camera, a SFXn, I bought in 1990. With luck I'll never need another body, as I'll be 89 then I have noticed though which ever gear anyone has it's usually good, which going by cost differences is just as well.

Firstly - a great macro lens - I have been using one for a couple of years.

The original hood for this lens does screw in to the filter thread - but if you want to use a filter - you just screw the filter to the camera and the hood to the filter.

A 58mm thread petal hood will cost you about £3 on ebay

As for a reasonable price for the lens - checking ebay - the highest price one has sold for recently was £289 and the lowest was £270. These were described as excellent condition

Hope that helps

Carl
Great help thanks Carl. Lens now bought for £249 in a nice padded Sigma bag too, so quite pleased. Plus "I know where he lives if it goes wrong" Will look for a hood online now

Have been offered one of these lenses (with the aperture ring) at what may be a resonable price. It looks in mint condition but there is no lens hood with it. Because the front element is set so far inside does it really need a hood? I can't see any way to fit one anyway except in the filter thread? Then where would the "protection" uv etc filter fit? There is a switch for limit/full on the lens which I assume is something to do with auto focus but I mainly expect to use it for macro. What would be a reasonable offer for this, don't want to upset the guy
