scaring the birds

Looking out of the window I was wondering why there were no small birds in the garden and then spotted this on the fence

I managed to get upstairs and take this with my K7 and 55-300 through an open window.

Wow!

why dont things like this stop for a while in my garden

This is a reasonable crop from the original taken at 300mm. I went to fit my 1.5x convertor and when I returned it had gone.
