Finally got round to watching We`ll Take Manhattan last night - sympathetic portrayal of Bailey and The Shrimp - nicely played and it was a Pentax S3 he used mostly with a Rolleiflex TLR when forced to.

Sunny,0 degrees and nice here.

I think you`ll find it was the Italians who thought of it first.................7th Apr 1986 – A deadly wine scandal in Italy. ... a bottle of Fraris Dolcetto del Piedmonte that contained methyl alcohol, which is normally used in antifreeze. But the Austrians got found out first ...................... Four thousand years of winemaking history counted for little after the "antifreeze scandal" of 1985, when it was revealed that some wine brokers had been adulterating their wines with diethylene glycol. The scandal destroyed the market for Austrian wine and compeeled Austria to tackle low standards of bulk wine production, and reposition itself as a producer of quality wines.

But......................For as long as wine has been made, wine has been manipulated, adulterated and counterfeited. In ancient Rome, Pliny the Elder complained about the abundance of fraudulent Roman wine which was so great that even the nobility could not be assured that the wine they were pouring on their table was genuine. For the poor and middle class of Rome, local bar establishments seemed to have an unlimited supply of the prestigious Falernian wine for unusually low prices.

HG and I both remember Pliny moaning - lol

Keep your chins up Barrie - we`re thinking of you up here in Wirral - best wishes to you and Margaret.

"My normal foot slogger postie seldom takes anything back, leaving signed for stuff with my neighbour (a good friend) and normal stuff in the safe place."

Sounds like my old postie HG - until they fiddled with the system and I haven`t seen him since September - deliveries now about 2-00pm most days instead of 11-00am and wrong mail a regular occurance - pathetic - and they have the cheek to increase the cost of postage !!!!!

Hear hear GREYNOLDS - the man is a legend and a great poet - shame so many people believe about wrist slitting and hanging when listening to the words is so very inspiring and uplifting apart from the great melodies.
He certainly is better than Dylan - Bob or Thomas !

S&G prog was very enlightening ...................

Damp, dull and gloomy here on Wirral.

Playing with new PC
