Pan Haggerty is a famous British food from Northumberland, though it can be found across the whole of the north east and most of England. Pan Haggerty is a filling dish and wonderful with sausages, or any meat, and even delicious on its own.

This Pan Haggerty recipe uses just potatoes, onions and cheese but sometimes is also made with a little bit of cabbage as well. A great way to get kids to eat vegetables without them realising.

I`m keeping out of this one !!!

All food of the Terroir or "local" food is individual to the area and the produce available and the cook - generalisations are usually accepted to be the norm - however, I have seen two "TOP" chefs describe Pommes Gratin Dauphinoise recently as containing CHEESE - not in my lifetime mateys - perhaps they should go to the Dauphine region !! The Savoyarde region uses cheese and bouillon.

That`s the one Archie - I used to keep a cut raw potato in the car in case of heavy rain - wiped on the outside it helped dissipate the droplets ?? So I was told.30 mpg @ 3/6p per GALLON.60 miles to a pint of oil.Built like a tank with real chromium bumpers.I used to polish it with Brasso.................got the shock of my life when I turned up at Hotel School one day and saw the Head of College get out of the same model in green.

My first was a 1949 Ford Prefect "sit up and beg" with running boards and semaphore indicators.
As an aside I took my Eagle RV Jeep kit car for a service to the local KwikFit some years ago - it had a MKIV Cortina engine and running gear - I said to the mechanic " I bet you enjoy working on something as simple as this ?" - "No way" - he replied "I`ll get me hands dirty" !!!!!!!!

Tony.

Sorry, I don’t think she needs advice from me.

No apology needed - I appreciated the concern - as an ex Frogeye Sprite,Sunbeam Alpine IV & V,Lotus7,Lotus +2S,Vitesse,Sunbeam Tiger,Stag,Spitfire IV and kit car Eagle Jeep driver it`s amazing how I now take the Astra SRi as a "sensible" motor and can only put water and oil in as everything else is a mystery !!!

During this short snowy spell there have been 3 vehicles in the hedge bank/ditch in the local viinity. Every one of the 3 have been smart 4x4s. Does this say anything about the vehicles or the drivers?

Bernard

May I respectfully suggest..................the drivers !!!!
