Well - got a reply to my email from a very nice lady called Nadine, who confirmed the details and asked me to call her. Whilst processing the order she said it was the last one and they had been selling like hot cakes! Also, as we were talking someone came in-store and asked for one - if it's anyone from here, apologies, but I regard it as good karma for me tipping everyone off re. the Jessops grip (Let's hope all these K10Ds going on ebay don't push down the price!)

Too late for me - I've sent an email. Trouble is, funding will have to be via K10D + grip and I am used to the grip now!!! Let's see what happens tomorrow...

Matt - I've had the Tamron 18-200mm for a few weeks now as a "walkaround" when out with the family (avoid the "how many more times are you going to mess around with that thing" syndrome.) I have been impressed with the engaging photo's it takes. BUT (there's always a but) the two problems I have are poor corner IQ and CA problems. (This was confirmed in a shoot-out against a Pentax 18-55 DA II that I just bought.) This makes me wary of any situations where I might want shots that I can enlarge.

On the whole though, it's a great lens that means I can take my camera in a small bag just about anywhere.

Al - I have to agree that I don't see the problem with the lens optically at all. The exclusion of the hood does seem strange though - the end is designed for it and, as you say, this bit of plastic can't be that musch to add as they're already churning out hoods for the "normal" copies. Still, I think you've answered my question about buying one. Just don't point towards the sun!

...and no quick shift. I just bought a 18-55mm L from SRS for £35 (theory is that at some point I will sell the K10D and it will go better with a kit lens, as I didn't buy one at the time.) This looks like it was de-bundled from a K-m kit as it also has no box! Not at all bothered at that price and the exif shows it is the mk II model - indeed a short bout of pixel-peeping seems to confirm this, with good sharpness in the corners. Never know, I might put it to use rather than mothballing it!

I have recently bought the Redsnapper and can recommend it as a very good solid tripod. It's an item that you know has been designed and produced with care and although I haven't had time to use it much, it is a delight to use.

Having said that, as you've noted, it is big and heavy! But the supplied carry-case is strong and well padded and the strap makes carrying it easy and comfortable. Would I take it on a long walk? NO! For that I have a monopod or use one of Mr Riley's many suggestions.

Scott - nice photos. The first does have the problem of being "just another squirrel pic" IMHO. The second is very engaging. The problem I have with it is composition. The squirrel is looking out of the left side, which leaves an uncomfortable gap on the right filled by an OOF branch. But I can well imagine that time was not on your side and you don't want to lose the tail!

I've always assumed that "no returns accepted" simply means the purchaser can't return the item if they change their mind? My items are always listed that way (except for a very expensive pen I sold where I appreciated the buyer may wish to inspect the item before fully committing).

If the item is not as described then I would expect that you can return for a full refund anyway, under ebay rules?

Chris - I've bought most of my kit off you (including a recent Sigma 105mm, which I'm very pleased with) so the greed factor took over when I saw the price, but didn't study the detail. Thanks all for your comments - I'll scurry into the corner and try to think before I post in the future...
