I usually use my K3 and 60-250mm for sport so am using at 250mm and F4 to acheive the fast shutter speeds required.
I recently took my K3 to the zoo to try it out at a more leisurely pace and was quite amazed at how sharp the 60-250mm is when not used at the extremes.

I have the 60-250 F4 and also use it for sport. I have seen it said that it is slow focusing, but I have never had a problem. The image quality is fantastic as you can see from the images.

I have to agree I'd don't find the AF on the 60-250mm that slow (no different to DA*300mm), I have the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 HSM which is slightly faster AF but I wouldn't say the 60-250mm is bad and can cope with rugby and football with no problems.

I doubt it, at least not at the zoo.
