My father used to have that exact tripod, am I right in thinking the legs have spring loaded studs that hold them open? you press them in to push the legs back up. It would have been bought in the early 60s I reckon.

Immensely talented painter I think, I'm always in awe of anyone with a real talent for creating things (even if they can't 'do' fake fur very well). I'd be hard pressed to draw a convincing stick man let alone something like that ^

I think my parents had two black and white shots done for their wedding, one family group and a bride and groom only standing on the church steps, bring back the good old days

I've been pressganged into shooting weddings three times (free for friends) and I'll not shoot another, I agree with the comments above, they are just too stressful and I'm not good enough to do them justice especially if money is involved.

Possibly more useful for longer distance shots where the cameras' inbuilt focus assist cannot illuminate enough? but long distance shots in the dark? unless you're a pap I think the need would be minimal.

K-r light is also green btw.

Got the books, thanks for the link. Not sure what to make of his photography though, in the gallery slideshows there are some very good portrait shots but they are buried in what seems to me to be a load of people going wtf?? as he sticks his camera in their faces.

I actually bought this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180663078079?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1... for £6.55

Actually £6.55 is about as cheap as they come, not £3.00 as I said above, I got confused with some lens caps I also bought. Is that what you meant?

You only use one program on your washing machine but would you buy a machine that only had one program? Same thing with pixels or any technology, it doesn't matter if the extra pixels make a better image, manufacturers need something that sounds bigger and better to make people spend their hard earned.

On eBay you can buy a spare battery for ~£8 and an adaptor for ~£3 neither will break the bank so why not?
