Quite a lovely set. I might choose (if I had to) 4 & 5 (for the interaction with the clouds), but then again...

Really like that second image, Gareth. Speaks to me much more than the first - very dynamic, both through composition and color contrasts. (Not that I don't enjoy more contemplative photography though, quite the contrary).

First one is great indeed...

Thanks for chiming in Andy, I'll be working on both the minimalist and the 'mixed' approach as I can.

A fine set. Of the bird shots I prefer #6, a great composition. #7 is my favorite of the lot however, beautifully lit. And #4 gives a good sense of the place.

Thank you Bill and Gareth. I will definitely be exploring these some more. Plus, there's a bamboo patch nearby that is also interesting...

I like how the view spreads out in 3, but my favourite is 12 - great dark tones in the landscape, contrasting with the antenna tower standing out against the bright/dark clouds.

I like the kisses very much (have you tried a square crop on them?).

Is there still the pot smoking crowd around Jim Morrison's grave ?
The last time I went to Père Lachaise (last fall) there was a fenced perimeter around his and other graves, making it impossible to get up close. There was a lone young man leaning against a barrier, listening to "The End" on his phone. As I walked by, I could feel the energy of his communion. No pot involved.

"All Blues", might be a fitting soundtrack here

Thank you for your thoughts and kind words. Dan, it is indeed! David, yes, I do like the minimalism of that last image. Yet I think there is a middle ground of sorts to be found (as in 2 and 3) within the general idea of softness - with different things happening in different planes. I'll keep working on that. Philip, I thought of cloning it out, but decided not to (my immediate appreciation of that curve was as a crack in an imaginary window). I'll give it a go and see which I prefer.
