I suppose a self-portrait of sorts is a good choice for my first image post. This was in a restaurant in Montpellier where I was sharing a meal with family. The mirrored wall I was facing had me wondering the whole time what I might get out of it photographically. Just before leaving I took my camera out and moved up to take this shot. I couldn't really see what I was doing, and didn't notice my father had sat back down to observe me, The waitress on the other side helped balance things out.

Hello to all, my name is Serge, I am a musician and guitar instructor in Périgueux, France and I am happy to join these forums. I am of both US and french ascent and have been a member of PentaxForums over on the other side of the pond for a few years - it never occured to me I might find a like-minded english language forum closer to home (I am aware of the french ones) until I followed a link here from PF this evening.

I have been enjoying digital photography for the past four or five years (K-01 and a bunch of M lenses). I'm sure I'll be seeing fine pictures around here and will post a few of my own from time to time. I'm generally not much of a talker though (at least on internet forums) so wordy posts will probably be few and far between.
