Hi Martin,

Ubuntu is a great choice! I am running that on a Dell laptop my other is an older mac running OS X. So I am also a windows free zone and have no intention of being otherwise.

I recently installed ImageMagick and have been experimenting with stuff what Lenscape says is dead on, the time saved and so on with this is amazing.

Now got a leather rucksack in Germany about the same money, and have sold the Slingshot. To protect the camera I bought a Honl Photo 16"x16" wrap, which comfortably takes the K10d and 40 limited.

ChrisA,

I wondered about making up a piece of cardboard split into sections and fitting tightly into the space of the bag, whether that would work. My lenses and flash are in their original pouches. Maybe I will get down and have a try.

I do love the bag for its ability to be swung around from the back and the single strap.

Oh dear I am the only one who hates my Slingshot 200. The quality of the internal dividers and velcro I found was terrible. With 4 lenses and my K10d, these dividers just do not cut it. 3 of the lenses are pancakes so they are not heavy.

I gave up on this bag and it gathers dust.

Heh Lenscape,

Thanks a lot for the code I will try this on my Ubuntu laptop. If it does as you say especially batch process a folder, I will definitely use Linux to prepare some of my images in future.

This works on Ubuntu to my satisfaction:-

$ mogrify -resize 640x480! -font /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-bitstream-vera/VeraBd.ttf -pointsize 14 -verbose -draw "gravity south fill black text 0,33 'Copyright Stephen Butterworth - 2007' fill white text 1,32 'Copyright Stephen Butterworth - 2007' " /Desktop/austin-7-1932.jpg

How does one limit filesize to 100kb using mogrify?

iWatermark is the way to go, and once done in that, the watermark stays there. I once used something else and then found that images posted on the web could be dragged and dropped and the watermark no longer was there. So now I use iWatermark always for any image placed on my web site. This is of course on a Mac. I would also like to know how to do it in Ubuntu Linux, as I now have standardised on Mac most of the time and Linux the rest.

Anybody know of an equally good way as iWatermark on OS X, to watermark images in Linux?

iWatermark is also a Windows applicaton I see:-

Has anyone any views or experience of using Kodak Professional 1400 Digital Photo Printer, which is a dye-sub page printer capable seemingly of producing super A4 prints????

Give me this site any day. Too much Flash design just for the sake of it, and that ruins everything for me. I wish web designers would think a little differently about their designs. I found the website so slow, I gave up on it. Not exactly a good advert for Pentax I am afraid to say. Could try a lot harder! Some designers don't get it it, users want SPEED, otherwise the site is a drag, when will they learn?
