Interesting you mention about the eyes. Mine are not what they were, so I am steering clear of manual focus, purely because of my eyes.

However I appreciate what you are saying about the 77 Limited, I shall probably go for this lens, as with the 40mm pancake, I think most of my subject will be covered.

Thanks for the replies. I am still learning fast. I keep forgetting the 1.5 factor, so I guess the 100mm macro would be a bit much at 150mm for some of my pictures - but I am sure that is a good lens for things like flowers and such like but perhaps not so good in low light situations such as church. Maybe the 85mm will be too expensive. Possibly I will go for the 77mm when I find a gallery somewhere to look at and decide whether the photos are in line what I am looking for.

Having just ordered a *ist DL with 40mm Limited, what would anyone recommend as second lens for portraits, Macro and inside dimly lit churches ?

I love this DA 40mm Pancake lens. I bought it as my standard lens and it is indeed sharp.

Depends where I am going as to what gear I take out.

If it is town, then I take FAJ 18 - 35 or just 40mm limited.

For parks, zoos sometimes just 100mm and others 100mm and 200mm

I try and work out beforehand, what I think I will need then pack accordingly.

Rarely go out with all lenses.

It is a problem with the web form. Do what I did, click UK, actually you have to....then make an additional note later on in the process, like I did quoting my exact European address.

I am a bit worried about the quality of construction or rather the subjective feel of the focus ring, and whether or not dust will become a problem with it, but maybe I am being finicky. Other than that it handles very nice, and of course having several focal lengths in one lense is a boon.

I ordered one also. I took a few shots in the shop, that had one as a bundle - and wouldn't split, so I asked to take some shots and after about 20 minutes of handling I knew it would be an excellent compliment to the DA 40mm I already have.

I still would like to get a wide angle 28mm, 24mm, 20mm - around there - sometime when I can afford it.

Well I decided to get rid of mine. I have never had dust inside a lens, that I ever noticed(!) so easily. I add I have cleaned many front-elements in my camera life, mostly Canon, one Fuji and so forth and never have I seen dust.

Having said this, I am happy with the pictures, but have decided to buy 2 prime lenses instead. One is a 100mm F4 Macro. The other a 200mm M lens.
