Unfortunately it's a lousy Flash design, which gets in the way of the pictures, and other stuff.

wasn't pentaxuser.co.uk THE website for the devoted Pentaxian? or are we a little to mad for normal humans?

I love that poster. It is the best piece I have seen a long time.

Give me this site any day. Too much Flash design just for the sake of it, and that ruins everything for me. I wish web designers would think a little differently about their designs. I found the website so slow, I gave up on it. Not exactly a good advert for Pentax I am afraid to say. Could try a lot harder! Some designers don't get it it, users want SPEED, otherwise the site is a drag, when will they learn?

Unfortunately most everyone learns from the "success" of Microsoft. It is not rarely speed but eye-candy that sells. If it looks pretty and/or has fun sounds, people will come.
When was the last time you heard about the speed and stability of MS Windows was?
I work for a software company. My last company I worked for created a horribly buggy product... too intent on shipping it "fast" with new features. They're stance was "its good enough for Microsoft and they're making money, why should we be any better?". I think a lot of companies have that belief.
Anyway, I agree with you. The Pentax site was so bad, I looked at it, clicked on one link and never returned. What a shame.

That is the shame - what the site could have been ...... with all the talent available, they produce this - ah well, it can only get better we hope!

It works fine for me. It works with Opera, always a plus, it is pretty fast, looks are not too awful, and I am someone who hates Flash websites.

US biased and some of the links were not working when I looked, but there are some great images in the gallery.
Also check out the ADS section,

All this is good and further raises the Pentax profile.
