Depends on the weather....a good forecast will see me up for sunrise and off down to Snowdonia, a bad one then I'll be spending at least one day putting together my new website - I'm really hoping it's good weather though!!

Also useful to know that if dynamic range is important, as in most landscape photos etc, then ISO 80 is the best setting to use as DR is at its maximum - I quite dislike the D-range option as I had some strange results from it when I get it a try having bought the K5

As has been said earlier Simon, the option for pressing once to open the shutter and again to close it is a camera function, not an IR remote function. So it should work with the cheap one you bought off ebay.
Yes thanks..I'll see how the new timer version works and change the setting if needs be

No doubt that one more accurate that just timing it yourself, but with the Pentax remote you can press once to open the shutter and then a second time to close it. Saves finger ache.
Serves me right for being a cheap-skate and buying a non OEM version Gwyn

Thanks...went with a timer non-wireless release as below, worth a try - the main thing is will will stop me having to hold my finger on the shutter button of my current one for 5 mins at a time for those long exposures!!

Thanks for the suggestions...I already use a wired cable release, just wondered if there was a wireless alternative

I did buy a cheap one from Ebay ages ago but it doesn't keep the shutter open in bulb mode, another problem is that it has quite a narrow range so it won't work unless I'm stood in front of the - does anyone know if the SRS ones operate from behind ?

thanks

Can anyone recommend a wireless cable release that's suitable for using with bulb mode and very long exposures?

thanks
